The hits keep coming.

Not quite 11 losses in a row to a team but 2 years is a long time.
So many good things from the game.
Including, GTJ setting a Raptors record for 6 straight games of 30+ points
(are you going to tell me that shot in overtime wasn't worth 17 points?)
Now I'm no coach but, hey, wouldn't you have wanted to cover this guy?
I'm also impressed with the little side hustle the Raps have going on.

What's that Bulls? The Heat are giving you trouble? Not a problem.
We'll take care of it.
What's that Pat? Your Heat liked being in first and now they miss it?
Consider it done.
I wonder what we got in return?
Ummm, no. Something better.
Unrelated, but in another lifetime this special week could have been special for a different reason.
In a non covid world, this would not only have been a welcome back DeRozan game
but it would have been preceded by Kyle's first game back in Toronto.
That was the first game I bought tickets for this year.
I think the whole fanbase was looking for both catharsis and celebration.
And that's important.
Because those guys are cornerstones of Raptors history.
As you may have heard,
flags fly forever.
But the tide is shifting. While we're no longer the defending champs (even though we are),
we are building something special here. Something new.
You might call it Raptors 2.0.
Or,
you might call it
RAPTORS 5.0
Masai and Bobby have something going on here
with this starting/closing five.
Imagine 5 guys giving you 20 points per game
(came pretty close last night)
That hasn't happened in 20 years...I think.
5 guys shooting over 30% from 3
It would be over 35% if you accounted for Pascal's return from injury and where Scottie has come from.
5 guys that could bring up the ball through pressure.
I always get a laugh when the inbounder looks and sees Fred and Pascal and Scottie...and has to choose where to pass it.
5 guys who could guard probably 95% of the players in the league regardless of switching.
Suddenly I'm getting hungry for a burger.
Will be fun to see where this goes.
Alright...enough introspection.
We've got another game.
It's been a hectic run.
7 games in 11 days.
OT and triple OT.
4 of the games against the Eastern 1st seeds (at the time...see above)
Almost every game has been a grueling match down to the wire.
And now the last back to back.
Speaking of hits that keep coming,
let's give this one a spin

Have fun tonight.
See if we can ice Trae
(dad joke)
Play whatever minutes you want, we don't play again til Monday.
Enjoy what has become an incredibly fun team to watch.
Years ago (specifically 2017), I remember posting that we should enjoy this unexpected run of the Raptors because it would never be our first time being good again.
I think we might be there again.
And, speaking of good times,
Could not be happier for the guy.
