    failed lowry deal right after
Masai's own tea-bagging to NYK. It's like he was calling an absolute bluff to the post-Grunwald office and they still made a horrible choice.

When that deal was made, I was only happy we would be playing a better brand of basketball and friggin happy that Patrick Patterson was joining our team. Always liked him since I watched the Wall-Cousins-Bledsoe-Patterson team in Kentuky, and when he did this to the 2010 Craptor squad:

Marc Stein mentioned this but trade exceptions are good for one year and with anniversary of trade, Raps lose Gay Exception worth $4.6M.

...and Weltman was of course holding back...for obvious reasons. Glen Grunwald (why dont MLSE have a honour day for him for doing the Bargs trade) recently in an interview also mentioned that he believed Dolan got cold feet on the deal because of previous transactions with Masai. This guy was Dolan's right hand man in NY so should know Dolan's psyche (GG wasn't there when all this went down though...but why would he make this up).

The truth is as MU himself keeps saying...."we got lucky"...and I am very glad. Some people still fighting old battles.
I wasn't aware that Grunwald is just down the road from the ACC working in Hamilton as athletic director at McMaster University.

Nice article today in the NY Times on Glen's new job:

Nice. I always thought GG was a "good guy". Dont know if you know he is married to a former reporter for the Sun (forget her name) and also headed the TO chamber of commerce after the Raptors stint.

Coincidentally, the Times had another TO related piece worth reading:
