That Barnes weak pass is another sample of him deferring to Fred.

He was looking to pass. He has that other play where he looked off Pascal, made a great move and then lost it out of bounds and that was probably in his head. As soon as he threw it he tried to pull the pass back cause he knew it was the wrong play. Fred wasn’t even looking for the ball.

Like I said, Scottie gets tentative when Fred is on the court with him. You can feel the body language. He’s afraid to make a bad play.

It might not have been Kawhi of PG guarding him, but Siakam is playing at another level right now.

                      Because he was being tentative.
In his head, he was already determined that the ball should be in Fred's hands at that moment.
It's very obvious how he plays more aggressive and decisive when Fred is not on the court and he knows he is in charge.

Some of you like looking at something that isn't there don't you?

Fred played in the Lakers game. What did Scottie do? Score 15 in the first quarter.

He has gotten better at it of late, but Scottie has a habit of making bad passes.

Tighter than it could have been, but some wonky play from a couple bench looks let them back in it. Great job gritting out the win down the stretch in spite of some missed shots and mistakes that made the whole thing a lot harder. What a streak!

Would have been a way easier win if Trent gave them anything. Some of his misses were so badly off yesterday that it could only be a result of a lack of focus.

You mean like when I pointed out last season that Pascal and Fred deferred to Lowry in a pecking order and they were aggressive when Kyle didn't play? You guys had no clue about that concept. Like Fred explained it: this stuff is nuanced and the average fan wouldn't understand it, but you can see the difference when Scottie plays with and without Fred.

It's not 100% hesitation when he plays with Fred, but he is clearly more assertive when he's running the point by himself, or when it's just him and Pascal.

Pretty fun game between two teams that try hard on each possession. Raptors looked like the better team. Some bad shooting in the 3rd helped rally the Clippers, but we kept ahead. Fred missed some clutch free throws, but made it up by getting that rebound at the end. And Precious with some really awesome defense to close it out.

Pascal was incredible. I predicted a double double.. wasn't expecting 31/12. I thought this was one of Khem's best games in a long time. He was grabbing boards. Getting to the line. Making some shots in traffic. 9 points, 7 rebounds, and +13 for him in just 21 minutes. Scottie had some really great moments, like that down hill dunk in the 4th. But he also turned it over pretty badly a few times. The refs even bailed him out on that errant pass to Fred by calling a foul late. But he's a rookie. Still ended up with 15/4 and was a +7 in his minutes.

I know Gary was under the weather, but he was all over the place with his shot. He made his first shot (a 3) and then just went downhill after that. He did get to the line a few times. Some good defensive plays. Just have to have patience. Norm was really inconsistent too and figured it out.

Brooks had three wide open shots and I think he air balled all of them. Would be nice to have a bench guy that can drain a shot consistently.

Good win boys. Let's do it again tomorrow.
