  • Game 74: Raptors vs Pacers, Sat Mar 26, 2022, 7:30 PM, TSN

    Starters:

    TOR:
    VanVleet
    Anunoby
    Barnes
    Siakam
    Birch

    IND:
    Haliburton
    Hield
    Brissett
    Anderson
    Bitadze

    Team Ranks:

    TOR: 15th ORTG, 12th DRTG, 2nd OREB%, 24th DREB%

    IND: 17th ORTG, 27th DRTG, 3rd OREB%, 13th DREB%

Pacers have been tanking hard since the deadline, 3-7 in their last ten, and already mathematically eliminated from the play in. Need this one if we’re hoping to overtake the Cavs or Bulls or both to avoid the play in ourselves.

Cavs are 5-5 in their last ten, Bulls 3-7 .... Raps are 7-3
Allen is out for awhile and DeRozan was a DNP last game, was it a maintenance day?
Need GTJr back and no excuses. 6th at worst should not be a question.

Looks like Malachi and Gary both participated in practice so we might have a full crew for this game.

Malachi still out. Gary listed as questionable.

DeRozan pulled his hammy. Seems to be minor but we'll see.

Feels like a trap game with Boston coming in Monday...I'm never confident this year against these weak sisters. Chicago and Cleveland face each other Saturday so someone has to lose..which also means someone has to win. Important we take this game.

Yeah we don't seem to bring the same intensity and focus against the weaker teams. I'm still scratching my head over those losses to CHA, ATL, ORL and DET after All Star. Could be fighting for first round home court had we taken care of business then. Here's hoping they bring it from tip off to buzzer and get some garbage minutes for the deep bench in this one. It's time to get in a groove now.

So Doug Smiths tweet that he got crucified for came true. Did he have inside knowledge but got cold feet on confirming, or just dumb luck? Either way, good for Armani. This makes ChamPenny ineligible for playoff roster.

The Toronto Raptors are signing Armoni Brooks to a two-year contract, sources tell The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Brooks' contract includes a partial guarantee of $250,000 for the 2022-23 campaign, Sportsnet's Blake Murphy reports.

Toronto previously signed Brooks to a pair of 10-day contracts. The undrafted guard played in 41 contests for Houston before joining the Raptors. Brooks also suited up with the Rockets for 20 games last season.

Brooks is averaging 2.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.6 steals, and 11.1 minutes in eight appearances (one start) with the Raps. He's scored 20 points and drained six 3-pointers over his last three straight games.

Toronto (41-32) enters Saturday's matchup against the Indiana Pacers tied for sixth in the Eastern Conference with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Raptors are also only one game behind the fifth-seeded Chicago Bulls.

I like this signing. Brooks is our guard off the bench who can hit 3s and play capable defense. We needed someone else with Malachi not healthy and Trent and FVV constantly banged up. Nurse seems to really like him so I'm sure he'll get the most out of him.

Definitely a sign of the apocalypse.

I took it as him saying Brooks is for real and should be signed for the season, but he tried to make it into a joke which backfired, but who knows, maybe he knew beforehand and leaked it lol

But seriously great signing.. I preferred having another guard in our rotation for the playoffs. Apparently Brooks has a 6'9 wingspan.. so now it all makes sense.

Champagnie just has too many guys ahead of him in the rotation. He can continue to feast in the G-league like he did last night (45 points, 13 boards, and 3 blocks).

Here's what I don't understand why not just sign Champenny to a contract and get rid of scrubs like Yuta and Bong?
