Lonzo has a great skill set that would fit nicely with this team on offense, but I'm more than a bit concerned about his durability. Lots of missed games over the course of his young career. He'd take much more of a beating playing defense for the Raps too, so wouldn't be completely off to assume he may moss more games. Not sure he has the motor to play for this team.

And for the Bulls, does moving two young players which much more room to grow for Fred who is near his ceiling the type of move that will get them further in the playoffs?
I really wish we got him last season

do not understand the fascination with NAW. he was bad with NO, played less minutes as they turned their season around, didn't play hardly any minutes for the underwhelming jazzers, and has played 5 minutes in these playoffs.

if the jazz give up on him on that'd be two teams giving up on him in the first three years of his career. three if you count portland, who were talentless and tanking and still preferred a second round pick to trying to make something of him.

seems like a red flag to me
I really loved him after last summer.

        I think he'll be a Denver lifer.
Yeah Denver is gonng to be fine. They put up a great fight missing 2 key starters in Murray and Porter Jr. If they have those two they're legit title contenders.

Also Jokic already said he's gonna sign the supermax and loves the organization.

They probably shouldn't have given out that contract for Porter Jr considering his injury history. That could hurt them, but yeah.. they had a great season without 2 of their better players.

P Williams and Lonzo for Fred
Ball fits perfectly in Toronto but you'd have to give up more than Fred to get him or Williams, let alone both.

Lonzo has a higher trade value than Freddy All-Star? For a win-now team? Would like to understand that line of reasoning.

yeah lonzo was just traded for satoransky, garrett temple, and a 2nd round pick less than a year ago, then sat out most of the year with an injury.

i also have a hard time seeing this

Ball wants to play in Chicago. Chicago made him its primary FA objective last off season. They were 22-13 with him in the lineup and ~500 without him. He's their guy. It's not about trade value per se but it makes no sense for Chicago to give up on their guy whom they badly wanted and fits perfectly with their current roster. They also have him locked up on a pretty good contract for another 3 years whereas they'd have to pay Fred in FA straightaway and they've got Lavine to deal with as well.

As a straight basketball trade FVV-Ball makes sense but I don't think the same can be said when you add the context. Also, never said Ball had a higher trade value than Fred.

Without Fred to carry this teams offense while Pascal was out, this team very likely isn't in the playoffs right now. People have forgotten already it was literally Fred and a bunch of new guys that have never played in this system for the first bit of the season. OG got hurt early on too if I remember correctly, but regardless Fred was the guy carrying this team until Siakam returned and got into the groove of things.

I doubt Ball could have filled those shoes.

                          • Ok so who's left to cheer for......maybe Griz, Phoenix, Miami and......Boston? I hate to say Boston but I'm not cheering for the overrated bucks. They are going to lose for sure anyhow with overated Middleton out.
