It's pretty crazy but the offense you would teach to kids just learning to play basketball (5 out) has become the most effective offense in the NBA. I know it's not exactly 5-out but it's in the ballpark.

5 out doesn't mean just shooting either. When you have a C like Precious who you can kick out to and he can immediately put the ball on the floor and attack the rim, it puts a lot of pressure on the defense.

i don't really understand the compulsion to identify who is playing what position. siakam brought the ball up the floor the most in the first half. scottie brought the ball up the floor the most in the second half. pascal initiated the most sets in the half court, same as the regular season, but the duties were shared with other players like scottie, same as the regular season.

scottie spent the most time guarding harden, but also spent time on embiid and switched onto others. siakam started most possessions on harris, but also switched onto others including ballhandlers.

i mean based on all that, who is the point guard? and why does it matter?

Yeah those guys are paid a lot. Lonzo Ball fits that mold but I don't think Chicago gives him up.

Like I said before, Cam Johnson would be the perfect 2 guard for this team i'm just not sure if he's available.

curious what makes you consider cam johnson any more of a shooting guard than, say, OG? i don't watch a ton of suns but they seem to me to have similar skillsets, with johnson being the better shooter and OG being the better and more versatile defender.

OG can definitely play the 2. He;s shown it in the past. In fact the starting lineup that that I wanted them to go with before the season began was Birch, Siakam, Barnes, OG and FVV. That is still an option next year with Precious obviously replacing Birch.

As for Cam Johnson, i'm thinking if they go back to playing small with Siakam, OG and Barnes playing 5-4-3, then they definitely a 2 guard. I prefer a 3D guy to play the 2 someone like Cam Johnson.
