  • 2022 Playoffs Round 1, Game 6: 76ers @ Raptors, Thur April 28, 7:00pm EST, TSN

    Series: PHI 3-2 TOR

    Starters:

    TOR:
    Barnes
    Trent
    Anunoby
    Siakam
    Birch

    PHI:
    Harden
    Maxey
    Green
    Harris
    Embiid

Raps won game 5! Two down, two to go.

Starting with Birch worked out to buy some minutes for Precious, so imagine they stick with that. Have to keep him screening on ball though, too easy for the offence to bog down if Embiid is just helping off him into the paint. Thad and Boucher kicking butt in the Embiid rest minutes, Scottie and Pascal staggering minutes to keep a creator on the floor, OG and Precious destroying on defence and having their offensive moments of brilliance, Trent hitting some tough shots and being a pest on the perimeter... Keep doing that, and we've got a shot.

    Go Raps!

This season is already a success.

The emergence of Precious (incredible development curve), Chris Boucher finding himself after being consigned to the dustbin, Thad having a relevant season, proof of the 6' 9" concept, taking a first-year university bench warmer in the draft and watching him be acknowledged as the ROTY, seeing GTJr find a balance to his offensive game while revealing a virtually unknown defensive one, OG continuing his progress as a defensive stopper, post player and perimeter threat, and Nick, taking an injury and health stressed team, slotted into the Playin or lower position all the way to 5th in the eastern conference, and now threatening to throw the presumed MVP out with the garbage.

This could be a movie script.

Game 6 is history in the making,
            down 3-0
            then 3-1
            then 3-2
We are on the brink of making history. Sixers are on the brink to make history too, but in a negative way.
right now Sixers are in big mess, players, coach and fans. Let me say something about the fans, Sixers were down about 10 points and almost 3 mintues and 20 seconds remained, fans were getting out, this shows you how fragile this Imbiid squade and this franchise.
Right now, the iron is hot, really hot, we just need to strike as hard as we can.

Isaiah Thomas was saying after last nights game that there is no way Philly is winning game 6 in Toronto.

Philly is definitely going to come out of the gate throwing haymakers in this, but Raps will have the home crowd on their side. Let's see how quickly Philly gets fatigued in this one.

Chuckie Barclay says he wants to do the show from Jurassic Park, that would be classic.
The only problem is he guaranteed a game 7, gotta keep the focus which is game 6.

Really do think they need to keep one of Birch or ideally Precious on the court whenever Embiid is in there. Thad on Embiid worked for one stretch in game 2 but otherwise has not gone well. They were smart to get Precious in the game quick in the second half when Embiid quick subbed back in.

That said, the Embiid rest minutes Thad has been running wild in (he's maybe been a bigger agent of chaos than Boucher, who would have seen that coming?) and that should definitely continue.

Nick seems to have stumbled onto a working system. Start Birch to absorb the early high energy Embiid minutes and absorb a few fouls, use him as a screener in early game offence to get guys moving, try to break even in those minutes, before bringing Precious in to play the bulk of the Embiid minutes (with an energy advantage) and switch to our more free flowing mismatch hunting offence, and then use Thad and Boucher to take advantage whenever Embiid rests, with each getting short shifts beside Precious to buy a little time for Pascal or Scottie as needed.

                      pascal became pascalifornia.

hes about to enter philly to ring their bell as the LIBERTY PASCAL.

keep attacking injured embiid and rack up the fouls on him. THEN GAME OVER.

From games 1-5, Embiid has played 37, 37, 39 (plus 5 in OT), 39 and then 40 minutes. You see the impact of 40 minutes on him. Can't imagine how much he'll play thursday. This after averaging less than 34 all year.

Raps are only back on serve but the trend line has moved in their favour. Philly should shoot the ball better in game 6 and they will try harder defensively but I'm not really sure how many offensive adjustments they can make. The issue for Toronto will be scoring consistently in the half court cause if they can do that, we are going to see game 7.

The unfortunate thing is he gets 2 full days off. In this instance I think it benefits the 6ers more than the Raptors

Yeah, it will help him, but on our end, Pascal could use the breather and Scottie's ankle could really use the extra day. I'll take that tradeoff.
