I'm really hoping this dude clears medical and we bring him back.
Years away; but if the Chomche rose coloured projections come true and Koloko become a mobile big with a half decent 3 ball, that's a scary long team.
Scottie
Chomche
Koloko
on the floor at the same time? Crazy to think about.
Obviously there are a lot of major "what ifs" but it would be cool to see two super long, super mobile Cameroonian players on the same team. I would assume having someone like Koloko would only help Chomche adapt to the league.

Something I dug up after taking my observations on here in the other thread (Koloko's ridiculous 103.7 on-court DRTG in his rookie season), posting them on twitter, and getting a lot of questions:
Koloko played 58 games and 13.8 MPG. Of the 293 players across the entire league who played at least 50 games and 10 MPG, his DRTG ranked...
1st.
Of 293.
Second place was at 105.1, so it wasn't even that close. Truly a special rookie season.

Sounds like Koloko is a few weeks away (maybe a month) from getting cleared to play.
https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/toron...ristian-koloko
“We had a major breakthrough with his blood clot issue,” Koloko’s agent Calvin Andrews of Klutch Sports told me. “They found the issue and he had corrective surgery and has been recovering (for) the last 4 months.”
Koloko, 24, has been off blood thinners for a month, Andrews said, and in roughly two weeks he’ll undergo a scan for blood clots to see how he’s progressed.
“If there’s none, then everything is fine,” Andrews said.
In the meantime, the 7-foot-1 Cameroonian big man has been working out at full strength, Andrews said, and Koloko's team of doctors cleared him about a month ago for five-on-five, full-contract drills.
Koloko began the NBA’s Fitness-to-Play process three weeks ago and the expectation is it could take a few more weeks before a panel of the league's doctors fully clears him for a return to the NBA.

Raps have room under the tax and nothing better to spend it on than Koloko. So, not really a problem.

Secondly, if the Raps do bring him back I hope it's on a short term, minimum signing. Everything coming out of his agents mouth should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm not sure what kind of market there will be out there, but I imagine hardball would amount to a guaranteed minimum deal. Heck I'd happily give him more than that if it bought us real term (though the future years should probably have limited guarantees to protect from further health issues), though I'm also fine with the one year deal since he'd be RFA with full Bird Rights afterwards.

I could see adding Koloko all but guaranteeing 36 wins unless management makes things seriously rocky for Darko. He really takes our bench and our defensive options to another level.
Mitchell
Gradey
RJ
Kelly
Koloko
Here he bookends a group of sub-par defenders with Off Night on the other side. I have no doubt he would elevate that team defense up past passable. Sub Gradey and RJ out for Ochai and Scottie and we might be in the elite defense converation even with Olynyk on the court.

Either way we should not let another team sign Koloko because we're afraid he will help us win more games.
