Played 5 on 5 with CP3 and co the other day, only watched a couple minutes where he had a couple hook shots and shot a deep 3. Deandre Jordan was playing next to him in the frontcourt so was a bit whacky.

There's nothing firm on that. Last report gave the sense it would be a matter of a few weeks, so well before training camp, but that's just guesswork I suspect.

Best guess based on reporting is he could be cleared sometime in early September. Shouldn't drag on too much beyond that unless there are lingering issues.

I mean, we can't really know. I would imagine the team would want him back if he is cleared, and I suspect he'd be open to that.

We're pretty set at C with Jak, KO, Carlson and Chomche who will probably be called up if there's an injury to any of the guys ahead of him. Koloko would be a good replacement of Kelly eventually.

Raps don't seem to have any quality big wings/forwards though outside of Scottie.

If Kelly was still able to play C with any success, I'd agree more strongly with this take. But he needs a real big beside him to do big man stuff at this stage. And besides Boucher who can do that stuff from the PF spot but is also the forgotten man at this point, Koloko is a way better option for that spot than any of the other alternatives (Mogbo, Carlson, Chomche).

Carlson and Chomche aren't gonna play any NBA minutes this year. Kelly is declining and can play backup PF. We could really use Koloko.
