+350 now, and the line for the Suns going the other way on each refresh. Still not sure I want KD, but it sure is exciting either way.

These gamblers do their research, lots of money on the line. There have been tweets saying talks with the Suns have stalled because Nets don't want Ayton.
Utah seems like a fit since they traded Gobert and look to be rebuilding. I
I suspect the Nets have interest in Donovan Mitchell. The problem is Mitchell is a DPE player (he signed a 5 year max rookie extension). A team cannot have 2 DPE contracts (where neither were drafted by the team). Ben Simmons is on a DPE contract. So the Nets would have to trade Simmons to a different team first to get Mitchell. If Utah doesn't want Simmons, or any team for that matter, than this deal blows up as the Suns don't have much more to offer in the trade.
It's all very confusing. The point really is that the Raptors can make a deal that's really not that complicated at all if the Nets (and KD) had any interest. This is likely why the Raptors are moving up in Vegas and the Suns are moving down. Either high rollers see this Raptor bet and like it or Vegas insiders know something more than we do.
If the Raptors ever get to even odds, then I think we're on the 1 yard line.
*Edit - the reason why they can't do a S&T isn't because their hard capped.. it's because their over the tax apron. They would have to shed salary to be below the apron to receive a player in a S&T.Last edited by planetmars; Sun Jul 3, 2022, 06:09 PM.

C'mon now Mars, you spent the last couple off seasons saying you didn't trust our FO in free agency and now they're hunting big game and you're doubting them? Have some faith my guy, Masai has proven himself more times than we deserve. Whether it happens or not I'll feel good about his decision.

What's surprising is a team like Indiana just doesn't send in a offer sheet for Ayton. Phoenix has no way to get KD realistically. If they match that offer sheet, they can't trade Ayton for a year. If they don't match, they don't have the assets to get KD even with a 3rd team.
... just a spectator on this one. I'm rolling with Masai 100%. I personally am scared to death of seeing the pick capital we'd have to give up on top of the players to get him here.

Bontempts mentioned something interesting the other day. When the Heat traded for Shaq in 2004, the Lakers first asked for Dwyane Wade, Pat Riley emphatically said no. Wade if you remember showed star potential his rookie year(Heat were right about him). The Lakers then called back and asked for the Heat's secondary star player which was Lamar Odom. Long story short, the Heat found a way to get Shaq for Odom.
In the deal, the Heat traded Caron Butler, Brian Grant, Lamar Odom, a 2006 first-round pick (Jordan Farmar was later selected) and a 2007 2nd round draft pick. That's who the Heat gave up for a 32 year old Shaq.
Could the Raptors realistically get KD for Siakam plus plus? Lowe said the Raptors don't get KD without Scottie Barnes.Mamba Mentality

Lowe wouldn't have picked Barnes 4th overall in last year draft.
Masai is a professional gm, Lowe is a professional armchair gm.
I can't put my finger on it but Lowe has became a bit of a douche over the years as soon as he got more exposure & push at ESPN network. It's like it's in their contract to act like this so it attracts the click bait crowd.Last edited by Hotshot; Sun Jul 3, 2022, 06:52 PM.

Hey, I trust them with trades 100%. It's free agency that they usually whiff on.. although Porter seems like the best player the Raptors have ever signed in free agency.. and he got an excellent contract to boot. Although I think I might have said the same things about Baynes a couple of seasons ago.

If he's succesful bringing KD over that would be two top 5 guys he's brought over in the last 4 years. And the more success these top guys have in Toronto the more eyes open up to Toronto being an attractive destination. The man really does have a vision for this organization.
I remember before this season there were people asking for a full rebuild building around Scottie. Trading Pascal and Fred for picks and so on.
Raptors had a good season, got to 5th seed and made the Playoffs and now they have the assets to potentially pull the trigger on a trade for a superstar. It happened once, it could potentially happen again and there will more opportunities in the future. These are the moments you wait for.
