I think I could talk myself into a Scottie deal if the rest of the deal is favorable enough. Like, only one extra first heading their way, Flynn as the extra prospect instead of Precious, Trent as the core piece instead of OG, them taking Khem and Svi as the filler, nothing else coming back our way... Maybe.

The ideas floating around about like Scottie plus OG plus several picks? Nope.

This is my feeling as well. I hate the idea of trading Scottie, but in a package with Trent I think I could live with it, because the team we'd have left would be awesome.

Good info. I don't know if this could go on for a long time anyway but maybe for the Suns it's unrealistic. Teams want to get moving on to the next step, if they wait too long they're missing out on their targets from before the Durant trade demand and only one team can walk away the winner here. Woj says time is on their side but time is also against them. What contender is going to put their off-season on hold in the hopes of landing Durant? Its a little different but the Kawhi sweepstakes of a few years ago fucked the Lakers. They waited too long.

I don't think it hurts the Raptors if it drags out. We got Porter and can't make any more free agent moves. We either get KD or roll with the team we have now.

This is the status quo American media take when it comes to the Raptors. There is no point in even arguing the validity here though because he has a four year contract and will be 38 in his next free agency.

The media pulled this same stunt when Kawhi was rumoured to be traded here. There's a clear media prejudice against the Raptors. Always has been, probably always will but it doesn't matter.

Worth noting on the Suns: they have non-Ayton packages they could pursue instead (like Bridges, Johnson, Saric, picks), but then if they lose Ayton they are pretty shallow around KD, and if they keep him they are darned expensive, neither of which seem like outcomes they would want. So the Ayton deadline is real, but not a complete showstopper for them.
