No he never actually told DeRozan he wouldn't be traded.

Of course Masai doesn't have to make this trade. The core has lots of room for growth. In 2018 Raptors hit their ceiling with the Derozan and Lowry duo after multiple Playoff exits.

I still feel Nets will lower their asking price eventually, especially if they trade Kyrie. Its up to them if they want another drama-filled season or move on and rebuild. Joe Tsai has basically already said he'd rather move on from both.

all it seems to say to me is that the three (Marks, Jones and Ujiri are all in Vegas. Nothing about them meeting. But I guess it’s more likely than if they weren’t there

Summer league has always been a place where executives meet and hash out deals. One of the few times they're all in the same city attending the same events.

Just waiting for this ayton thing to figure itself out. once that domino falls it will be interesting to see what happens from there. I maintain there is a very good shot we get durant for the RIGHT price... but if Net's are obsessed with looking like they "won" this trade I have already said they can throw in FVV.

More I look at it, the more I'm convinced the Raptors might be able to sell a FVV/Trent package, with loads of picks alongside them. The higher FVV salary also helps a bit if you look to expand the deal to take back another piece like Joe Harris, who maybe the Nets just want off of.

Who knows? But if the Nets are smart, they take the best offer out there right now. The offers likely only go down as he gets older, and big salary deals are so much harder to work during the season than in the offseason when teams can have bloated rosters (and generally have more cap room available).
