Yeah that came from Nick in one of his media interviews. On day 1 he was most impressed by Dalano and Jauncho.

Yes Nick's quote is a lot more fun for the media than saying our 2 best players looked the best.

But I suspect that Banton and Juan probably did look the best? Again, it makes sense cause they are fighting for their careers while the top 10 guys are all getting ready for game 1.

Both those guys are more in rhythm after coming off international play so makes sense they stood out. We'll see how things go as the others get up to game speed.

Yeah the guys with secured positions on the team can ease into it more. It's the other guys that need to have the constant hustle and stand out every time they are out on the floor. This is what Draymond Green alluded to when he chastised Gabe Brown in Rico Run, he wasn't in a position to take it easy (You better believe the Raptors assistant coaches there were evaluating and relaying some things back to Nurse).

For what it's worth I think Juancho has a promise for a spot on the line-up.

Ok here's what I don't understand, right. I'm watching Sportsnet and Grange is talking about this Raptors "window" and how Siakam and FVV are not that young anymore -- they're already 28. Wait a minute. This whole We The North era started in 2014 against the Brooklyn Nets right? Kyle Lowry at that time was considered a young player. Lowry was 28 in 2014. So he was considered a young player but now Pascal and FVV are old?Mamba Mentality

The whole notion of timelines and windows was silly when we drafted barnes. it was pushed because some ppl didn't believe in siakam and held onto the bubble performance... they thought siakam had peaked and ignored all context behind his poor production (lockdowns, covid, injuries)Last edited by TrueTorontoFan; Thu Sep 29, 2022, 08:51 AM.
