The block button finally worked. I finally blocked Claw Reborn's ass. I don't think i'll see anymore of his dumbass spam comments unless someone quote his post but nobody ever replies to his post so it's all good.

      Thanks RR and Doc Naismith.

I have been reminding you all this time that nice forum option is always available.

I will however not use that on you because as I said I will be around to call you out every time you spew idiotic posts like the one above.

      cheers

I'm also inclined to believe the egregious ISO was an intentional don't-show-the-playbook thing. That starting 5 has enough minutes together where they probably only need 1 or 2 games to get back to where they were last season.
Where they were last season was a 107 ORTG overall (would rank 27th if they were a team) and a 104 ORTG (would rank 30th if they were a team) in 1st Q's. I definitely believe they can get back to that. Whether we should want that is another question.

Its not even about not taking criticism. Its been the norm for sports preseason for years. They slowly start ramping up minutes by the end of preseason.

You wanna disagree with the whole thing in general? Sure. Singling out the Raptors won't do much.
The numbers don't seem to support this. Last season, first 3 games in preseason the starters played 25-30 mins.

Imagine a world where it was a consideration for some fans who might never get to see you play otherwise. Especially in the preseason.
But i see nobody here wants better, they just accept as is no matter what. Weird really.

And the season before that it was in the low 20s.

Regardless yesterday was an entertaining game because of the bench and the comeback. Starters weren't great.

Would you rather watch NBA vets go through the motions for a few extra minutes?

The Raptors ran plays.. they were just disjointed and mostly awful.

And I don't really use preseason as an excuse because Boston ran a lot of plays that were super awesome.. and they were also trying to regain their shooting forms from their summer break.
Boston smoked the Raps last night. Only silver lining was that our stiffs are better than their stiffs.

Fred and Pascal were also close to the league lead in minutes in the regular season last year and Fred in particular was accordingly busted when it came to the postseason. We KNOW there is a deliberate intentional effort to work towards getting their minutes down this season. We shouldn't be surprised that this might also occur in preseason when the team who are **DOING THEIR JOBS**(more on that to come) are, competitively, playing for nothing. (But all that's secondary as to why they weren't playing more, just addressing that point.)

We want better than what you're talking about. These guys, coaches, management and players alike, are doing their JOBS, and as much as you might like to think so, their JOB is not to warm the heart of little Timmy from Edmonton. (I'm a prairie boy too and you won't hear me complaining.) Their JOB is one thing and one thing only. If you don't know what that is -- they went so far as to write it in big block letters on the side of the training centre wall this year, and we all know it's Masai's favourite word:

                  WIN.

And sorry, but no, that doesn't apply to game 2 of the preseason in Edmonton or anywhere else. They're there to put in work and, even if you're paying, it's a privilege, frankly, to watch this stage of them figuring things out. They aren't there putting on a pony show. They're there to put in hard work to make difficult decisions about who to keep and who to cut, who gets sent down and who gets sent away. We saw the HORRIFIC state of the bench last year and they need every moment they can get to evaluate every player at this camp and see where they fit, and what solutions are gonna help them -- say it with me -- WIN.

Just cause you bought a ticket to a Raptors preseason game -- they're not there to tap dance for you. They're not there to put on a dunk fest. They're in the middle of their business process.

THEIR STAKEHOLDER IS NOT PRESEASON FANS -- THEIR ONLY STAKEHOLDER IS WINNING.

You come on here with this bullshit about "lip service" calling them disingenuous .... sorry but gtfo. NN has foundations for kids, Pascal, Fred even Scottie who's just starting out. MASAI. These are the people and the decision makers that you're coming on here and saying "they don't give a f about little Timmy from Red Deer. Seriously -- shut tf up.

                  lol

Sorry DVD. You're wrong on this one. And you're entirely alone.

If somebody came on here talking shit about you unwarranted -- I'd stand up for you. Much love.

You find yourself on the wrong side of this argument.

I hope I've said all the paragraphs that could ever need be said on this topic and we can all move forward from this ridiculousness now.

Looked like both Boston and Toronto were trying to start off the game.. it was fun. It really started sucking when we had that 5 man lineup with OG and Scottie leading the bench. I guess Scottie is not quite ready to lead a bench because that was atrocious. We went on a huge dry spell giving the Celtics a huge 13-0 run or something.. and then we were on their heals until the bench came in to erase that and ultimately win.

I had this hope that Scottie could do it.. and it was just a preseason game, but this is why I was really hoping to get some type of veteran playmaker to help out Scottie when Fred and Pascal need rest at the same time.

I hate how the drive/kick and 3 is like a weakness for the Raptors, when everyone does it. Boston is just really really good at it. Time and time again you can see the play unfold. Someone drives into the paint for Boston, two Raptors converge. They kick it out, and with some ball movement they get a wide open 3 point shot. It's why a long line up really doesn't matter if we have to over help every time. Again only preseason, but 13 guys are returning from last year.

On the positive front.. the bench play was a lot of fun. They scrambled hard to get that win. Some weird decisions like that DJ Wilson 3. Didn't really like that Gabe Brown 3pt shot, despite it going in. Josh Jackson looked great. Dowtin looked really composed. Weird that he air balled a free throw, and then front rimmed out his other shot. Outside of that bad 3pt attempt, Wilson was really good. Brown does seem like a chucker but maybe that's just confidence. Nothing wrong. Terrence Davis had that too. Interesting that Harper was DNP'd. Maybe we'll revoke his 2-way and give it to Brown instead. That's the real battle.

What was surprising was seeing Khem out there. He was good, no complaints about his play.. but that should have been Koloko out there. It was a chance to see the kids play.. we know what Khem is. Unless we're dangling him for some trade or something.

I thought this was Koloko's best game, including all of summer league. Banton looked really good. Some wicked moves around the paint.

Jauncho was sort of invisible and Josh out played him. So that's a bit interesting too. I still think Jauncho makes it since he's fully guaranteed and we gave him the mic on media day. Plus he played with starters and Josh is sitting at the kid's table.
                    noticed this too

                    • I watched the whole game, and I want to say somethig that I noticed from this game and the one before it. We made a huge mistake when we signed Jauncho, even before I see him playing, there was nothing special about him at all. On the other hand, If we keep Flynn and not signing Dowtin, this will be a very stupid move and a crazy scenario.
How about Josh Jackson and Brown ? I do not know how we will sign them.
It is not about one game, no, not at all, but Dowtin is a very solid PG and Jackson is a steal, very few people here know that he was drafted #4 in the first round. I just do not know what went wrong with his development in Suns, he did not have enough minutes, then Pistoms will do the same with him. Many scouts say that Jackson does not have a good basketball IQ, but some argue that he has a good one, and if you watch him while playing in the college, staredom was written all over him. Rumors say that Boston wanted to draft him over Tatum, but he Jackson would not agree to work out with them.

Now, we do not need Harper, Jauncho and Wilson.
