I don't think Indiana can trade for Ayton until the summer. When you make a bid on an RFA and it gets matched, then the player cannot be traded for a year to that team I believe.

Why in the world would Indiana want Ayton on a max deal when they just resigned Turner for 2 more years at only $20M per year. Plus they announced right after that they are not trading Turner.

The Ayton offer over the summer was an insurance policy because Turner might leave. That ship has sailed.
