He would be ONLY be a very difficult asset to trade if Masai and Bobby are to give in to his agent and him by shelling out 25% of the cap this offseason. 29 years old who has reached his ceiling with very limited offensive options but living and dying nailing Hail Marys, inability to initiate an offense with low vantage point because of his height, noticeable decline of his defensive ability against quicker and more athletic guards and a physical body that is now failing because of the minutes pounded into him by his coach.

Trade him before the deadline before he even loses more value.

          What are you talking about?

He has 1 year left at $21M, that's ridiculously easy to move.

          Worst contract in the league?!?!

Did you look up the wrong contract?

Westbrook makes $47M! More than double Fred.

Sorry but your post could not be any more wrong.

Russell Westbrooks contract is not comparable to Freddys.
Its perhaps the worst contract in the NBA right now.
The Lakers and it couldn't happen to a better organization are going to pay this guy 50M$ this year.
            Freddys is like Malcom Brogdons..
Its got two years to run and its 40M$ in aggregate. And.. no matter what we think Freddy is a starting guard somewhere in the NBA.

Uriri is in the treadmill zone.... Not good enough to compete deep in the playoffs and not bad enough to draft well.
            Choices are coming ...

Neither Westbrick or Kyrie (and obviously Fred) are the worst because they are expiring this year. They can be used at the deadline to trade to teams that want to get off of longer term bad contracts to free up cap space for the off-season.

Raps aren't in the treadmill zone. Right now they're in the basement with the dregs of the league.

Freddy has a PO on his deal.
We have him this year and if he opts into 23-24 next year as well.

Given his injury history, might be a good idea to secure a long term contract, even if its with a little less money.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Fred can sign the 4-year, $114M max extension with the Raptors, right up until the end of the season. That assumes Masai & Bobby are still offering it.

Zero % chance that Fred will opt-in at 22.8M because Herro and Poole set the new market price for combo guards (30M+ AAV), and also because opting in is even significantly less than signing a max extension right now (28.5 AAV).

Yeah, unless Fred snaps his leg in half he's entering free agency this off-season.
