When healthy I imagine we'll close small. That lineup has always projected as a closing lineup rather than a starting lineup.

He won't complain because those things aren't true. Betcha Jak and Scottie do very well together, and the perimeter defence is even more effective with solid rim protection (the way it has been with Koloko this year).

Can’t risk the free throw shooting as well. And that small 5 has done well in the clutch iirc, I know Scottie specifically has had incredible stats in the clutch this season

Zach Edey. 7’4 center putting up insane numbers right now for Purdue. He’s mobile for his size, post moves look good, but most importantly he’s filled out so there’s less fear of injuries like when 7’+ guys are super skinny.

He’s also Canadian (finally a legit C for Canada)

I know we just got poeltl and we still have to develop Koloko but this is an interesting pick. He’ll likely go somewhere in the late second or go undrafted. Take a flier on him

Edey is not an NBA player. He's done wonders to improve while in the NCAA, but he camps in the paint. His foot speed is not good enough. Maybe he could play 10 minutes a night in the league if everything goes perfect, but at best, you're talking about a late second rounder who spends years in the G League. I think he could make way more money in Europe. I think his game is perfect for Europe.

I definitely wouldn’t use the first on him. I want a shooter with the first for sure and there’s quite a few of them.

Thing is, I really like his game. Old school NBA he would be a lottery pick. Definitely a hard worker. You can see the work in his progress. I just hope he goes to Europe first. His game would fit perfect there, he would make a ton of money, and if the NBA is in his future, they got scouts there too.

No idea at this point as to the range the Raps will be drafting in this year, but Taylor Hendricks is an interesting player to keep an eye on. He's listed as a 6'9" small forward. Seems to be a really "versatile" player that can do a bit of everything.
