I'm not a fan. I'm not sold in his shooting ability. He's very inconsistent. Hot and cold. Not very athletic. I'm not sure his game will translate.

I still have Hawkins #1. He showed it in the NCAA tournament why. Best shooter in the draft. Quick release. Clutch. He hit the biggest shot in the game last night. He should be the guy.

I have Kobe Bufkin #2, Keyonte George #3 and Jett Howard #4.

Gradey Dick's performance against Arkansas kind of turned me off so he's off my board now.
Yeah, not sold on Schifino either.

Hawkins is a great shooter coming off screens and in movement, but I'm a bit wary of his 40% from the field. He's also a year older than Sensabaugh who I have ahead of Hawkins right now.

You're into Brice? I brought him up a few pages back in this thread as a guy I'd want.

The one worry about him is he could be a chucker. He has a 34% usage in college. He won't get that in the NBA. Can he still put up decent numbers and do the nitty gritty stuff (ie, provide defense, get assists/rebounds, etc) without his same usage?

But a guy that shoots 40% with 7 attempts a game is the type of guy we need on this team.

He's much more of an efficient scorer than Schifino or George, two guys pegged to go around the same range in the draft. I love how physical Brice is and how he can back guys down or can create separation to get to the spots on the floor he likes to shoot from. Just seems like the type of mid-range assassin you need in the playoffs when the game turns into a half court game.

Still, can never say how he will translate to the NBA when he's facing guys bigger and quicker than him. He's not an spectacular athlete that is going to be able to jump over guys or be quicker than everyone. And he's a bad defender apparently so that's a huge asterisk.

Cason Wallace is a more boring pick because he doesn't have that offensive bag like some of the other guards/wings in this range, but he's probably the best POA defender of the bunch and is a decent shooter a.k.a. a typical Raptors pick.

        • After watching the Lakers/Jazz game last night I finally figured out who Hood-Schifino reminds me of. He reminds me of THT. Pass.

As for Sensabaugh. He can shoot but he's slow footed and he's kind of fat/out of shape? also pass.

              I'd be happy drafting Bufkin.

              • I think we're well situated to get a (sooner rather than later) contributor out of this draft.

Unlike Miller, Howard may be available at our pick.

There's a little bit of Melo in him.
                        Good stroke.

                        • So I was reading about the draft and the play-in.

I think these are the scenarios (please correct if I'm wrong):

Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls lose in round 2: Get the 13th pick.
Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls beat Miami in round 2: Get the 12th pick.
Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls beat Atlanta in round 2: Get coin flip for 12th/13th with Atlanta.
Raptors beat the Bulls, lose in round 2: Get the 13th pick.
Raptors beat the Bulls, and win in round 2: Get the 15th pick and out of the lottery.

I'm not 100% sure on this.. But I did read that if a team wins the 9-10 battle, but loses in the second matchup, the lottery odds go back based on regular season standings, where the Raptors have the 13th pick (pre-lottery).

so this means only a clown would root for the Raptors to lose one way or another, I stand by this lol.

If you lose in the play-in you have a chance at Wemby. Somewhere between 2-1%. Or about 4.8% to get into the top 4.
Not great chances, but it's still a chance. If you get the 15th pick, you get to play the Bucks at least 4 times. But you completely miss out on the top 4, and a possible generational talent in Wembanyama.

This is why a lot of Raptor fans want them to lose in the play-in.

                              • Sorry one more scenario. If the Raptors and OKC both get to the playoffs, then the Raptors will be picking 16th.
