If you lose in the play-in you have a chance at Wemby. Somewhere between 2-1%. Or about 4.8% to get into the top 4.
Not great chances, but it's still a chance. If you get the 15th pick, you get to play the Bucks at least 4 times. But you completely miss out on the top 4, and a possible generational talent in Wembanyama.

This is why a lot of Raptor fans want them to lose in the play-in.
Odds for a clown tripping on a banana peel way higher than Raps getting a chance for Wem

they could have considered a serious tank before the deadline

      • Actually I think here are all the scenarios (OKC's situation matters):

Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls lose in round 2, OKC loses in play-in: Get the 13th pick.
Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls beat Miami in round 2, OKC loses in play-in: Get the 12th pick.
Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls beat Atlanta in round 2, OKC loses in play-in: Get coin flip for 12th/13th with Atlanta.

Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls lose in round 2, OKC wins play-in: Get the 12th pick.
Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls beat Miami in round 2, OKC wins play-in: Get the 11th pick.
Raptors lose to the Bulls, Bulls beat Atlanta in round 2, OKC wins in play-in: Get coin flip for 11th/12th with Atlanta.

Raptors beat the Bulls, lose in round 2, OKC loses in play-in: Get the 13th pick.
Raptors beat the Bulls, lose in round 2, OKC wins play-in: Get the 12th pick.
Raptors beat the Bulls, and win in round 2, OKC loses in play-in: Get the 15th pick and out of the lottery.
Raptors beat the Bulls, and win in round 2, OKC wins play-in: Get the 16th pick and out of the lottery.

A 2% chance of winning the Wemby sweepstakes and a 4.8% chance of getting into the top 4? I'll take that over getting OBLITERATED by the Bucks in the 1st roudn.

The Bulls had a 1.7% chance of winning the Derrick Rose sweepstakes back in 2008. Guess what happened?

            Let's go Bulls!

Best case scenario for the draft is for the Bulls, Hawks and Thunder to all make it to the playoffs. We'd get the 11th pick before the lottery.

Worst case scenario would be for the Raptors and Thunder to make it to the playoffs. We'd get the 16th pick, and not be in the lottery.

I'm good either way to be honest. No stress off my shoulders this time around.

              • even a grade school who know basic math does understand the odds of the Raptors getting the No.1 pick is zero to none if they lose against the Bulls.

But this is impossible because how can we lose when we have Jesus VanVleet, lol.

The season long proclamation here in this forum by the usual kook aid drinkers that VanVleet is so valuable that we can hang wins around his neck or the Raptors would be a bad team next season if they trade VanVleet would contradict the crusade of the no.1 moron rooting for the Bulls

                unless Nick Nurse DNP him

LOL, moronic and I am not surprise

                • Currently 1% chance at the first overall pick. I like those odds.

                  • So what's our draft spot as of now? I read someone post that if OKC won we would move up from 13th?

                      • I guess we know the best and worst case scenario. Likely not going to find a star in that range though, so I wonder if Raps might look at trading the pick in a package.

Klay Thompson was drafted 11th overall. Mitchell and Booker 13th overall. Giannis and Kawhi 15th overall. You get my point.

This is a strong draft class. Trading this year's 1st would be e beyond stupid but nothing would surprise me about this management.

Chicago and OKC both have to win against Miami and Minnesota respectively to get the 11th pick.

Here are the four remaining scenarios.

                            Chicago wins, OKC wins:

                            11 - Toronto
                            12 - New Orleans/Minnesota
                            13 - Minnesota/New Orleans
                            14 - Miami
                            15 - OKC/Chicago
                            16 - Chicago/OKC
                            17 - Atlanta

                            Chicago wins, OKC loses:

                            11 - OKC
                            12 - Toronto
                            13 - New Orleans
                            14 - Miami
                            15 - Chicago
                            16 - Atlanta
                            17 - Minnesota

                            Chicago loses, OKC wins:

                            11 - Chicago
                            12 - Toronto
                            13 - New Orleans/Minnesota
                            14 - Minnesota/New Orleans
                            15 - OKC
                            16 - Atlanta
                            17 - Miami

                            Chicago loses, OKC loses:

                            11 - OKC/Chicago
                            12 - Chicago/OKC
                            13 - Toronto
                            14 - New Orleans
                            15 - Atlanta
                            16 - Minnesota
                            17 - Miami

I am not 100% sure if the 8th seed in the playoffs will get a better draft pick than the 7th seed (Atlanta vs Miami). I think they will still use regular season standings to determine that over playoff seeding. But that won't affect the Raptors either way.

Was just about to type something similar. There is no guarantee we get a starting quality player but the odds are good that we get a futre rotaional player.

Bad/Mediocre teams like the Raptors teams should never trade their 1st round pick. You only try to move a 1st if you're a legitimate championship team.

The Poeltl trade was a trade a championship team would do. The Thad Young trade?that was just pure stupidity.
