Fertita (Rockets owner) is a billionaire but also pretty cheap. I think the bottom line is really important to him.

    Good article about him here:
    https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2020/3/...ts-owner-covid

Did the Raps leak the rumour or is this coming from the Rockets who might have interest in OG/Pascal? You have to take a lot of that stuff with a grain of salt around draft time.
Pascal is the best player rumored to be available in trade so I suspect we will be included in all trade rumors.

What separates now from the deadline is Pascal being potentially available. That wasn't the case at the deadline.

It makes sense from a personal standpoint. Harden has a home and a business in Houston and wants to live in Houston. Pretty simple. He has more reasons to be in Houston than Kawhi does LA.

So he can get paid top dollar to live where he wants to live and go after another scoring title with very little pressure for team success.

Not to mention Houston has cap space and assets to bring in another star like Pascal to play with him.
As long as they don't get booed every night or play in a miserable or losing situation, I don't get the sense that Harden or Westbrick value winning as highly as some NBA players do. Home, warm weather, low taxes, reasonable expectations, what's not to like?

        • Dean on Draft has Nick Smith as a potential bust:

I'd let some other team draft him and hope for the best. The Raptors can't afford to miss on this pick this year IMO. And Nick is a huge gamble. Maybe too big of one.

i know you young bucks dont get it. and probably honest dont care to get it.
grindhouse i'm in my 40's and have been obsessed with this league and this game since the late 80's. i'm not sure how to respond to the rest of your post or how describing a down-screen by a big to spring a shooter is evidence that the late 90's pacers or early 00's pistons are the only two teams one can emulate to have success in today's league.

Not a Hendricks fan at all. That low of a finishing at the rim percentage for a 6'9" player is a huge red flag for me.

great chris we need older heads. those pacers teams, piston, golden state, knicks (john starks, allen houston era) that is exactly what we need. we have 3 players who are interior players foul line and below only shooters will space that out and you dont want stand still shooters u want movement off ball shooters.

                    • i dont know i dont know how you people can look at this team and think we need a point guard. basketball wise it makes no sense to me. how is bufkin going to get to the rim with no spacing? run him off the line then what? not a recipe for success. create gravity without the ball. every podcast they give a name then as the talking well he needs spacing and he needs spacing. well get spacing your answering your own question.

Are we waiting on hiring a an HC before we start bringing in guys for workouts? I've hear zero new about Raps conducting any draft workouts or interviews.

I found this on the draft workout tracker. Not much reported yet but more than nothing I suppose.

The known list of players to have worked out with the Raptors:
                            • Maxwell Lewis, Pepperdine
                            • Isaiah Miranda, NC State

We need a point guard and shooters. Would be great if the PG could also shoot.

Just because we don't have shooters right now doesn't mean we should keep building the team as if we'll never have shooters. The current roster setup obviously does not work. Certainly a lot more work to do than just the draft pick.
