Didn't realize Indiana has shown some interest in OG. Obviously Mathurin would be our target or even Turner maybe. I wonder how Turner's recent extension and salary restructuring would impact a trade he was involved in.
Disappointed there is no mention of Sacramento on that list. They've got some nice pieces the Raps could be interested in.

Same suitors? OG will get more in return now than a year from now. Teams much rather two playoff runs under contract than one
OKC isn't contending this year but they probably want to try next season. They'd be far more open to an offseason OG deal than they would right now. That's just one example. I feel the same way about Detroit, Indiana, Orlando, and a few others.
OG will also be a hot commodity at the draft just like he was this past season.
100% guaranteed we get a better return for Fred and Gary now than in the offseason. OG not so much because he's under contract next season. No urgency at all to move OG unless the offer is amazing.

maybe will lou is still be lurking on these boards. from his 10 things yesterday:
i think jama mahlalela was an underrated loss on the player development front
Perhaps Nurse/Bobby/Masai got spoiled by having a collection of super-high IQ guys on one team, combined with the initial success of Nurse's defensive schemes, and maybe they thought they could extend those ideas into a broader team building concept.
Losing Jama was big, I agree. The players just rave about him. But then, we brought in Rico and Earl which should've made up for that. Who knows.
Or maybe it's as simple as Lowry + Bench... where Lowry made bench guys look way better than they actually were, for years.

But aren't defined roles completely opposite to the position-less philosophy, where everybody does everything? That might not be the best system to break in lower IQ guys... i.e. bench players.

Is Rico potentially a terrible assistant coach? Wasn't he with the Kings before he got here? Has he ever been with a successful program? Maybe his runs are not good for player development and Pascal is just a freak.Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

Not a year from now, months from now in the offseason. He could easily get a better return then than he would now.

Lots of reasons to not trade OG at the deadline. But there is at least one good reason to: the receiving team gets two guaranteed years (of playoffs anyway) of OG, rather than one, and may pay more given that.
Best course of action is of course to keep OG, assuming he isn't actively asking out.
