I'm curious as to what the Raptors do. Mainly so Precious can start. I think he deserves it. Looked good in the 2nd half of last season, started slow this season and has looked like he has taken a step forward after coming back from injury.
Exactly what I am thinking, again. I think it's time to shift the power to this new young core of Barnes, Precious, and potentially Trent (+ Koloko!), plus the young players they would get in the trades. Maybe add OG to this core but I'm not even sure he'd fit anymore.

They need to trade OG. When there's smoke there's fire. More than one reporter have now reported that he's not happy with his role here.

And then Fred to New Orleans for the Daniels, Murphy + 1rp (lakers) package
Who would be our starting PG in that scenario? Mitchell?

I’ve been saying for a long time that a combination of Precious, Scottie and Pascal can replace what OG brings on defense. Especially Precious, who can possibly exceed OG’s defense by himself, with experience.

OG and Fred are the clear cut guys best guys to trade for value right now. This trade deadline could potentially set up the franchise for a decade of success or if we do nothing…. continued mediocrity.

If Mitchell can improve his 3pt shot, then he’d be a nice fit as a 3&D PG who can shut down ultra quick guards like Maxey and Trae, at the point of attack. That’s a huge problem for this team, despite the plethora of theoretically plus defenders.

Medium term Mitchell, who would fit perfectly as the first guard off the bench when Daniels is ready. Point of attack defence would take a significant step up, easing the pressure on Scottie and Pascal when making quick decisions on the wings.

We need to be top 4 in the East to justify the massive amount of money it would take to keep this team together in the off-season. We're not gonna be top 4. Sell high.
This depends on how much guys get paid, no? I didn't think it was definitely unmanageable the last time I looked. There may be a pinch point the following season but it buys you a year to trade a guy later.

If this package is in any way on the table I am taking it so damn fast

                  • Just landing Daniels and Murphy would be incredible. Murphy is already one of the best transition players and shooters in the NBA, and Daniels has all the tools defensively and is already a good distributor.

Throw in the lakers pick and we’d be getting all that for Fred??? Sign me up man

Look at our guys Siakam and Scottie, Daniels right next to them

And if he can't improve his 3pt shot? Can't just assume he's going to be able to do that and he's smaller than Fred so how long is he going to be able to take the grind of Nurse's system? You'd just be exchanging one problem (maybe) for another.

                        • I would actually do the same trade but with OG if they wanted that 5th high end starter to really contend.

OG for Daniels, Murphy and Hayes (salary matching) and the Lakers pick

They get to run CJ/BI/OG/Zion/JV. It’s like having Herb but he can actually shoot and is even better defensively

We get legit shooting and a legit young pg prospect and a shot at the wall with a 7 footer that might give us a bit of rim protection.

And 2 top 10 picks if things ended today

I do like Daniels' game, but when we start talking about moves like this with Mitchell and Daniels I think we are pushing our window back somewhat. Not a bad thing since it lines up more with Scottie, but then you gotta think Pascal should maybe be moved as well and fully commit to that timeline. I don't see that from Masai, but you never know.
