This is the big plus of Johnson. Question for me is does he come over as a starter or bench scorer?

Keep thad because its a team option and you can ship him off in the summer before his guarantee date like how ATL did with the spurs for a minor deal... the rest is interesting but i'd want more picks coming our way and I am not necessarily giving up a 1st round pick
I thought they got rid of that loophole. Something about how for the trade purpose he would have a different cap number than the full 8m if he’s expected to be waived. I could be wrong though I’m sure Dan knows better

I do agree we might as well keep him to take advantage of that 7m savings ourselves. That’s instant cap relief in case we need it

Really? Every where I look he is listed as a 3 and a 4.

Whoa from Shams Athletic Article today:

if they can expand this to a bigger trade, I am all for it

            VanVleet/ OG/ Birch/ Thad/ 2023 SRP/ 2024 FRP

            for

            Ayton/ Crowder/ Cam Johnson/ 2023 and 2025 FRP
I don’t want that Ayton contract whatsoever

He can play small ball 4 but he's really a 2-3.

                  LOL I agree….

Cam Johnson ain’t a Shooting Guard….he plays 89% of the time this season as a Power Forward.

                  He started as a SF

                  • He’s a tall sharpshooting wing. Positions don’t really exist anymore so whether he’s a 2/3 or 4 doesn’t make much difference anymore.

Defensively he would definitely struggle guarding a legit 4 though, he’s pretty skinny.

i'm not sure where you got this but it matches what i'm watching. pascal iso's the shit out of the ball.

he's very good at it obviously and has become effective creating for others when he's doubled, but it keeps the ball out of everyone else's hands similar to other super ball-dominant players, which is a play style i absolutely hate and have been railing against for most of my years posting here.

i love pascal, but i think the rest of this roster falls into place without him and he's the only player i'd be looking to move at this point. i understand everyone's hesitancy because he's our best player, but watching scottie's growth this month i think moving him would fast-track scottie's development and put him on a path to superstardom (his ORTG in january is 129 (!)).

Does he have to foot speed and defensive chops to keep up with the Lavines, Mitchells, and Edwards to name a few?
