    Worse than Len/Birch?
Masai doesn't have a good history of true big men after trading JV....

Achiuwa has real promise (but I said true big men) and the jury is out on Koloko.
    They are trying though lol…

but I hope they don’t compound some of their blunders by trading away a young piece for an underwhelming return then double down in the offseason by paying someone who has clearly reached his ceiling and ended like this….

    • Guys, of course they are listening to offers. Probably means they've done the math and don't think they can retain everybody, so someone has to go, and it only makes sense to figure out the returns on all the guys who could viably be traded (ie everyone but Scottie and probably Pascal).

I thought they got rid of that loophole. Something about how for the trade purpose he would have a different cap number than the full 8m if he’s expected to be waived. I could be wrong though I’m sure Dan knows better

I do agree we might as well keep him to take advantage of that 7m savings ourselves. That’s instant cap relief in case we need it
We can trade Thad now at his full salary and his new team can waive him and save money next year.

Once the trade deadline is past, if we want to trade him at the draft, for example, he only counts as his guarantee for next year in terms of outgoing salary for salary matching. Same for in the summer, only counts as his guarantee. To make him count for more, have to guarantee more money. But would always count as his full salary for the other team to have to match, making trade math hard to make work from both ends when still not guaranteed.

"Not great at any one thing" reeks of a non-connected guy just re-tweeting what's already out there and doesn't know the player.

                • Gambadoro is a radio host in Phoenix.. so like a Bob McCowan (before he got fired). He's likely not going to know what OG's game is like.

Lol it's not true. This dude is going to be a DPOY level guy for at least the next 5 years. People love to pretend defense isn't were players spend 50% of their time. If OG went to a big market he will win multiple DPOY.. People were creaming themselves over Matisse thybull who doesn't hold a candle to OG
To be the champs you got to beat the champs

                      OG can legit guard 1-5.

                      Keeper, imo.

                      • Unfortunately, I don't think this team is just one trade away from being good. Everybody except Scottie should probably be available to be traded if the return is right.

Oh wow so for this deadline he’s still very useful as 7m cap relief then

Thats a legit asset we should take advantage of, think it’s worth more than he is as a player the way he’s been used

You don't think he's a great if not elite defender? Let's say top 10 in the NBA?

Looks like og and Gary are the most likely to be traded by the deadline. They will probably listen to offers for Pascal in the offseason but would take quite the haul I think to move him. Fred, if not moved by the deadline, will likely be resigned and possibly traded later if they want to move him. A tear down would likely take until next years deadline at least, but that should be expected. If OG and Gary are moved soon, and the team isn't better by this time next season, then I would expect the rest of the vets to be shopped. There seems to be a rather unique opportunity with the market right now, let's see if they capitalize.

We might be able to recoup the pick we lost to acquire him, if there is a team trying to duck the tax and could use those savings by waiving him to do so.
