OG doesn't want to be here.
So I think if Masai wants to keep OG, we're all good.
And why not??

Nah, that's the dumbest take.
This hodgepodge roster no one else is having success with just needs a new coach.
The best way to burn another season is assume a coaching change will fix everything.
Let's get to the usual "excuses".
Which team has more talent overall? Raptors.
Which team has a legit 7 ft center? Neither.
Which team has a true PG (that isn't washed). Neither
Which team has great 3-pt shooting? Trick question. Go look this one up.
Nurse is clearly under-performing the talent of this roster. Nurse and Spo are supposed to be in the same "elite" tier of coach... or so I've been told. I'm not endorsing a coaching change, but let's not try to pretend that Nurse is getting the best out of this year's roster and that a different coach
Or even, perhaps Nurse changing some of his stubborn approaches, might make a difference. We've seen the improvement recently in the offense, with better ball movement and less overall ISO. That is something within the coach's control to enforce.

Oh wow so for this deadline he’s still very useful as 7m cap relief then
Thats a legit asset we should take advantage of, think it’s worth more than he is as a player the way he’s been used

I don't know. I'm looking at DFG% and Defensive RAPTOR stats. And he's in good category. No elite.
RAPTOR has some basis in fact, at least, but there are better impact stats out there. Like EPM. Which has OG as a 99th percentile defender, which is about right.

Compare Nurse (23-29) to Spoelstra (29-23). We are 6 games back of the Heat.

Bam is one of the best centers in the NBA. Who cares that he's 6'10. Like why does that matter at all?
I'll give you the wash of Lowry vs Fred, but Lowry is at least a real PG.
Heat also need more shooters.
Who has an actual bench? The Heat.
Spo is a great coach and doing the best with what he has. Same as Nurse. They both need better rosters to actually contend, as we've seen them do in the past.

How do the Raptors have more talent than the Heat? That's highly debatable at best.

- Oladipo (29.6%)
- Vincent (33.2%)
- Orlando Robinson (who TF is this?)
- Duncan Robinson (he's zero trick pony now - DNP)
Everyone (including Nurse) blames the Raptors woes on lack of shooting. But the Heat are shooting 33% as a TEAM. Same as Raptors. At least Spo doesn't advertise himself as a shooting coach savant.

Have you watched the Heat recently? Look at what Spo has to work with. Let's have a look at their vaunted bench last night (3P% on the season):- Strus (33.8%)

And what the Raps would be shooting if he was at his avg for the entire season?
Would that have translated into a few more wins? Undeniably.
Sometimes, the difference between a winning and losing season is so miniscule.

Butler & Herro have missed a big chunk of games. As have Vincent, Lowry and Dipo... which may actually be a good thing, considering how crap they've played? Duncan Robinson has turned back into the undrafted pumpkin with possibly the worst contract in the NBA. Strus looks like he's on that path too.
If Caleb Martin, Max Strus and washed Kyle Lowry are 3 of your team's top 5 leaders in minutes played.... you should be a lottery team. Imagine if that was the Raptors situation? Fans would be calling for Masai & Bobby's heads. Spo has been dealt a way worse hand than Nurse... and done a better job of it. There's no denying it.
