As a role player i agree. But i dont mind bringing in outside NBA accomplishments to have a final say on a guys contribution to basketball. If Rudy gorbert lead France to a gold medal at the Olympics you would have to consider that when his career is over.
Now that I know there isn't an NBA hall of fame and the basketball hall of fame is more or less a joke then I'd assume Rudy is already in. If basketball executives from tiny European countries with no basketball history qualify then I really don't see the point.

Rodman was pound-for-pound best rebounder of all time. Led the league in rebounding 7 years in a row at 6'6. And decisively at that too. And he did that for 3 different teams. 5 championships. 7 first team All Defensive team. 2 times DPOY. Similar to Draymond I'll admit but the Rodman was All-Time great at rebounding. If you excel at something this much you gotta give that a nod. And I see that as adding something to the game of basketball. Because if you talk rebounding to kids you mention Rodman. I just don't see that in Draymond. He needed to be absolute great at one thing for me to consider him as HOF.
i know the resume and don't disagree with you about the rebounding stuff at all. but i think this is where stats don't capture everything and HOF worthiness shouldn't be based solely on them, as i don't think stats capture draymond's impact on his team's success.

they're both clearly HOF players to me

It's hard because there's no one way to quantify impact. Or at least no one way players and fans will agree on.

I think most fans would agree than both Rodman and Draymond are HOF worthy. Two of the best defenders of their era.

Bosh on the other hand. His biggest accomplishment is being the best player on a bad Toronto team. If that's the criteria then Michael Redd should be in the HOF too.

I find it very funny that this thread is essentially "why is Bosh in the hall of fame" followed by "here is why, it's because this is what the hall of fame is" followed by "well, I think it should be something it's not."

Can we just forget about the Bosh… just like how the RuPaul of Big Men has completely erased any memory of Toronto from his career, other than to shit on Toronto every chance he gets?

Speaking of HoF… his speech was disgraceful. Couldn’t bring himself to mention anybody connected to the Raptors helping him in any way. Not a millisecond devoted to thanking anybody in the Raps organization.

One of the (more recent) original ring chasers, colluded to take less money in Miami so he fit with lebron and Wade. Disgraceful footnote to the modern NBA mess.

SN: "The big man from Barcelona has decided to hang up his shoes.

Former NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors and legendary Spanish basketball player Marc Gasol has officially retired from basketball at the age of 39"

Thanks Marc, never forget your contribution to the Chip or the parade float
