He was RealGM's insider for a few years as they tried to compete with the big boys and got hired away and works for Woj now.
Oh I know he's legit, just the name doesn't invoke confidence.

I have a hard time believing a guy named "Shams"

Good move though. Bennett is likely D-League contract or overseas next year.

I honestly think the same is true for Chicago despite them beating us every time this year. I always see Miami and Chicago being mentioned as contenders in the East (for the ECF) and our name being left out even though we're the 2 seed. A lot of that is because of the Bulls and Heat name recognition like you said. Miami isn't very good and neither is Chicago tbh.
and also remember, what are we recognized for??
    Yup...and the pain returns.

Chicago with/without Butler are two entirely different teams. With Butler healthy, they really could take us or the Cavs in a 7-game series.

Heat are just 14-12 in 2016 and will likely be without Bosh. Dragic isn't fitting as well as they had hoped - he's playing alright, but not at his peak. Miami got the Raps in early November before Toronto really started hitting their stride. In the two games since then the Raps have beaten them by about 20 points each time - once in MIA and once in TOR.

The Heat get too much credit based on their recent history and name recognition.

Apparently, for JJ, it was OKC, ATL or Miami. It was about fit and playing time.

Makes sense, we didn't have a whole lot of minutes to send his way.
Johnson will be the starting SF in Miami for the rest of the season unless Bosh comes back. Will definitely help his next contract by ending his current one starting for a popular playoff team.

Let's get then context correct on both sides of the equation here:

Game 1: Nov 8th, Toronto at Miami
    Miami 96 - Toronto 76
Raptors were missing Carroll. Heat had a full squad. We lost by 20.

Game 2: Dec 18th, Toronto at Miami
    Toronto 108 - Miami 94
Raptors missing JV and Carroll. Heat had full squad. We won by 14 after turning it around in 2nd half.

Game 3: Jan 22nd, Miami at Toronto
    Toronto 101 - Miami 81
Raptors missing Carroll. Heat missing Dragic, Whiteside, Deng, Udrih, McBob. This was a very undermanned Heat and we beat them as such.

The season series is closer than you think, and our game coming up in March should tell us a lot more about our chances against them in the playoffs than our early season games.

Also, the Heat are on a hot streak since the All Star break. 3-1, beating Atlanta, Washington, and Indiana, only losing to Golden State. They're also 9-3 since we last played them at the end of January. The Heat are a very well coached team with some serious veteran talent, if they get Bosh back they'll be an absolute nightmare in the playoffs, and even without Bosh I'd still be worried.

Players to be bought out so far are Joe Johnson (Heat) and Kevin Martin (?) and Andre Miller (?) and Jason Thompson (?). I say we need a backup big and just grab Jason Thompson instead.

Fair enough, we'll see come Playoff time. Either way if we face them it'll be the second round most likely.
