It's still early in the season so I don't want to get too carried away with the Scottie hype. Teams are going to start game planning for him soon so we're going to get to see if he's the type of star Pascal is or if he's the type Kawai is. Not throwing shade at Pascal, he's a great player, but we know his limitations.

    ????
he's a few months removed from his 22nd birthday.

when the inevitable regression does come, due to the roster limitations around him and defenses keying in on him more, let's please not bury him and jump to the conclusion that he is not capable of being the guy.

he's shown every sign as a 22 year that he will become that guy

Why are we presuming koloko is out all year, I've heard nothing except respiratory and zero updates.
I think you answered your own question.

Just a feeling. Remember he didn't play in Summer League either. That was in May/June. It's now November. Did he even get a chance to train in the off season? I'm just not too optimistic about him. And of course our front office will say nothing when it comes to someone's injury status.

I think we need to move him for some roster balance. But Koloko being out, presumably all year.. and Precious being super fragile for some reason makes it a bit tough too. Boucher isn't a center, but can play that role. And the games he missed were against the Spurs who don't really play a conventional center. And Minny where we had Precious.

If Koloko is back to 100% and can actually play then I'm totally moving on from Chris. He's the type of acquisition any contender would love to have. He does the lunch pail stuff that all these contenders would want. And you just throw him out there for limited minutes. I bet he finds a way to grab an important offensive rebound. Or blocks a 3pt shot or something when you need it. And he's relatively cheap although has an additional year on his contract which may not be too appealing to some teams that are hovering over the luxury cap.

If Boucher could bring back a shooter I'm fine upgrading Thad to his break in case of emergency C role. When were all healthy Boucher is our 4th string C.

I think Boucher is valuable but has more value to another team.

He has 2 DNP-CD this season and we won both games.

Would love to swap him for someone who can shoot.

People aren't whining so much about Scottie's trainer anymore.
Whatever he did this summer worked.

Turns out Scottie only needed to work on his shooting after all.
As soon as he checks that box, his immense IQ and natural abilities are enough for him to make that leap.

Scottie has 5 (!) 3-point blocks already this season. Bol Bol lead the league in these last year with 16...

One other thing: Boucher has cost us late in a couple games with some boneheaded stuff, but generally it just means he's playing clutch minutes because everyone else is hurt, fouled out, or playing terribly, and generally you wouldn't use him in high leverage situations like that. Doesn't mean he's not valuable as an energy bench piece.

Let's see them with OG both times and with us not on back to backs while they are rested. We played both games tight (or led) at the half and faded in the 3rd (and for the second game, the very end of the third). They're better but the difference is not that much. So far, unfortunately, the only team I'm worried about is Boston. Will be interesting to see how our game goes.
There is a massive difference between those two teams. The raps, if they continue to improve (especially the half court offence), can narrow the gap somewhat but we are not in the same tier as Philly.

first 10 mins or so of old man and the 3 is about scottie's leap

nekias points out that what he's doing is extra incredible because he's thriving despite being placed in an offensive context that is not ideal for him, is in lacking space, playing alongside players that limit what he can do rather than accentuate it, etc.

just stop me if you've heard any of that before
