We've been 6 points per 100 better with Boucher on the court than not this season. Hardly a big negative. He's been stuck playing C too, which he's not good at, still making positive contributions.

That's in line with Schroder's and Poeltl's and Pascal's impacts thus far, though perhaps even more impressive since Boucher has played so much with the bench which has generally been so bad.

Nothing compared to the two current stars of the team: Scottie Barnes (+24 point on/off swing) and OG Anunoby (a truly unbelievable +34 point on/off swing).

Malachi has dragged himself up to a -24 point swing, which is awful but better than it was fairly recently, and McDaniels very much hasn't, still sitting at -38 points and should probably not play unless there are (more) injuries. Precious was a mess in terms of impact too, though hopefully a more concrete bench rotation will help him when he is back. Would love to see Koloko play too, once he's healthy, he had great impact numbers last year.

This is a Scottie thread but because Boucher’s name is being mentioned, I am throwing my two cents to this discussion.

I have no problem with Boucher, he is a role player, an added piece to a bench. He likes to cut from the weakside and goes to the basket, his teammates has to find him. Darko has to put him in a position to succeed. He however has to limit Boucher propensity of throwing Hail Marys early in the shot clock. Teach also the player to stop getting baited with pumpfakes, probably too much adrenaline off the bench and very eager to make in impact. He can also change the complexion of the game and we have seen that over the years that he is with this team.

Could be the coaching staff are trying to rotate between Boucher or McDaniels every other game.

He can be a good trade ballast when the opportunity presents itself, for now maximize his strengths.

Boucher is good if you need a boost of energy. Otto is a great vet, just gotta pray he can stay healthy.

It sucks Koloko hasn't been healthy, wanted to see what he could do in his second season.
Boucher doesn't just provide energy. He's a guy that gets you second chance opportunities. Raptors are not trying to win the position game, or is not prioritizing it like Nurse did. But if you did as a team, Boucher would be super valuable. If he's getting DNP-CD's here, he should be a prime trade candidate to a team that wants to value extra possessions. Like maybe to Philly for example. The problem is he has another year on his deal after this one, and Morey is trying to prioritize cap space as well for next summer.

Yeah really a shame about Koloko.

Precious is low IQ as well but he's better than Boucher so would be nice to get him back also.

I low key loved the DNPCD for Boucher last night. He's all energy and no brains. The bench is so much better with Otto getting those minutes instead.

It's time to figure out the right pieces to surround him with. OG and Dick are the obvious ones. I like Schröder as well but he's already 30 years old. Porter I like as well but he's injury prone.

Those are the only players that I would keep.

We need to surround Scottie with HIGH IQ players that can shoot. This team right now have so many dumb players.

Absolutely amazing start of the season for Scottie. The 3pt shot looks awesome, and he’s shooting with confidence. That’s half the battle.

I'm not too worried about the Philly loses, those were on back to backs. The Bulls game was absolute bullshit. The Portland game was embarrassing, they should have won that one. So far I’m happy with the season, they gotta figure out the turnovers.

    We have a superstar!!!

I’m not sure why, but I’m not 100% sold that this is the Scottie we will see for the whole year. His 3 point percentage is a full 14% better than last year, yet he’s taken a small dip in free throw percentage.

I don’t want the bottom to fall out, I'm just still holding my breath.
Scottie is shooting 42% from 3. That's not sustainable. Those are Klay Thompson numbers. I expect it to go down as the season goes along. The good thing though is he's now shown the ability to self create and take those kind of shots. That is HUGE.

Was looking like an injury was dogging him or something in the first half, then he just powered through and leveled up to take over the game. Magical stuff.
Great and all, but hopefully it’s not worse when the adrenaline wears off.
