In his 2 games with the 905, Jontay Porter has looked promising. I did a little digging to see what his srtory is.
Just turned 24 and is the younger brother of NBA champion Michael Porter.
He came to college as a 17 year old freshman in the 17/18 season and played 1 year at Missou. He tore up his ACL twice in the 2018/19 season and did not play but declared for the 2019 draft and went undrafted.
He had a cup of coffee with Memphpis in 2020/21 and has bounced around the G-league for his early pro career.
He definatley can stretch the floor, but shows some touch in the post with a lefty jump hook (strong hand) and some passing chops as well.
He shoots the 3 from the top of the arc well so would be a nice pick and pop option as well as a guy who can space to the corners.
It appears he has filled out and is more prepared to handle NBA bigs, he is moving well and the injuries may be behind him, although always a concern.
He may be a guy we see long term on teh big club.
