I'm really warming up to DeRon Holmes. He can score at all three levels, solid 3 point shooter, shifty post game, has a mid range jumper, and can put it on the deck and attack closeouts. He has some solid switachability on pick and rolls as well as weakside shotblocking.
He measured out at 6' 8 3/4" flat foot with a 7'1" wing span and 236lbs, looks like he has postional versatility as well. I am convincing myself that Scottie and Holmes could work well as a forward tandem both with Jakob in a traditional lineup as well as with each other in a small ball lineup. I want to believe that he can guard 3s on defence, maybe I'm delusional.Twitter @WJ_FINDLAY

Yeah Holmes is solidly on my list. His defensive overlap with Scottie is kind of the one downside (not clear whether he can slide to the 3 or the 5 on that end yet).
I starting to think though that he's a candidate to move up the board and be gone by 19.

Yup. It was unfortunate timing. Big men like Howard, Hibbert, Duncan, Randolph were all top tier big men. We asked JV to start bulking up pretty much as the league started transitioning away from physical back to the basket big men.

"Sources told ESPN Holmes recently canceled several workouts, raising strong suspicions that he has secured a guarantee in the back part of the first round."
Both Ringer and ESPN have him mocked 28th to the Nuggets.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

I don’t think that’s true. I clearly remember a JV rookie interview where he was talking about putting on muscle to go up against Dwight. I think JV is the one who wanted to bulk up.
After the draft he stayed in Europe for a year, and and Brian and Case kept saying his only job in that year is to get bigger.

He will need some time to get better at defensive positioning at teh NBA level, but I feel he has it in him to make it work. He's a bit of a late bloomer and has added to him game each year in college.Twitter @WJ_FINDLAY

i understand that me and many here dont look at the game the same. iso basketball and pull up 3’s is not basketball. the westbrook fans who love to see bam barge type basketball driving through 3 people and screaming at the ref that he got fouled. in the hood you get laughed at and mans will punk you off the court for even suggesting you want someone to respect that call. I AM TIRED OF THIS LOW IQ basketball. you guys had your era your derozans your OG’s driving on 3 mans only to get block so hard they broke his hand.
edey may not be it as i said his foot speed is concerning but i gave you 2 other options so dont cherry pick.
Low post Edey in the NBA will not be as effective like he was in college, bro.
Trust me. Strong, big and crafty centers will make life very difficult for him.

Compare Domantas's lean body to JV. Big difference.
