Yeah or Ryan Dunn. He should be there for the Pacers pick.
21% from 3. I'm kind of worn out from watching a boatload of Raptors' shooting projects brick wide open looks, hoping they might develop.... someday.

Lots of D in his game, not a lot of 3.

Yeah just like OG and Herb Jones coming out of school too. OG shot 31% in his sophomore year. Jones shot 35% but was a senior. He averaged 28.8% after 4 years in school. One year he shot 7.1% from 3. Yeah, 7.1%.

High risk, high reward.. just like Herb Jones was for the Pelicans.

          • After Chomche the other two guys that I like at 17 are Edwards and Furphy.

Herb was picked in the second round. That's not really high risk, since most players bust outside of the lottery. Any rotation player in the 2nd round is found money.

Also, Herb shot 35% from 3 his senior year.... which was an aberration, so I guess that's where the risk was.

Any chance we draft a center with our top pick?
I htink thye take a centre with one of their (lilely) three picks just not their first pick unless he's undeniably the BPA. I think they're happy with Poeltl and Kelly for the next two-three seasons.

If Raps are okay to come into next season with 3 rookies, then one of those will be a C IMO. They need good quality centers in their pipeline with Koloko no longer around. Centers need more time to develop and they could send that kid down to the G-league as well for most of the year.

I do like Ware and he would be my pick for C (at the Pacers pick).. and then go for a guard/wing with that first pick.

I don't know enough about him, but I wouldn't rule out Nikola Topic as a choice. He's a Serb and I'm sure Darko will be vouching for him if we get into the top 4.

I don't disagree with this. The question was their highest pick. I think it's unlikely they use their highest pick on that long term C project.

We are talking about a pick in the 15-17 range for Dunn. It's not really that much of a reach. He has all the tools to be a high end defensive player. I'll be looking forward to seeing his combine numbers to see what his wingpsan/height/etc are.

                    • We have no backup PF and basically no backup PG. We also need a bigger 3D wing. C is by far the lowest priority. If they're BPA fine but otherwise I don't see the point in drafting one.

Don't really know enough about Dunn, but my red hot-take is MKG-lite.

A worse Michael Kidd-Gilchrist? Yikes. That is not a glowing review. Lol

Dunn doesn't take many shots.. that's part of his problem. He averages 6 field goal attempts a game. And gets to the line for only 2 attempts a game. So his efficiency stats may just be due to his low usage and bad luck with the small sample size. He's just a really good defensive player (averages 3.7 stocks a game). He also has a 7'1 wing span.

Yeah you are hoping his offense gets figured out for sure. This team needs a really good defensive wing and those are tough to find outside the draft.

But yeah he could just be another McDaniels which would really suck. But I'm hoping that's not the case. The combine should reveal more of course.
