Gotta win 1 more game before they get a title.

Reminds me a bit of the James Harden situation with OKC. Kuminga might be the type of young player with promise which some team will take swing at signing to a max offer. He put up pretty good numbers on a team where he was playing behind Steph and Klay so there's room for more production.

I thought for sure they would try to trade him by the last trade deadline. They may start looking to the future and give him his desired extension.
I bet Kuminga thinks he's like Harden was back then, but I don't think anyone around the league feels that way. He's a good player, I just don't think he's a max level guy like Scottie is, and he wants to be paid like Scottie.

      • Yup. Booker's the one player on that team that raised his profile the most. He was one of the 5 best players on the team. Celtics fans/media whining all tournament how Tatum should be in the rotation in place of Booker was hilarious.

likely but he has certainly improved to his credit. I agree though not a max player.

Are the Lakers willing to give up draft capital?

Rui/DAR for Brown/Boucher would work... Lakers save a bit of money on that deal too. But by taking an extra year in salary (from Rui) we should be taking back a pick of some kind.

Russell would also take minutes away from Walter which is not ideal. But he'd be a good Trent replacement. He's a 41% 3pt shooter, and took over 7 a game last year.
only way I do it is if we get the draft capital

His EPM isn't very different than Bitadze if you look at their careers. Slightly worse but that could be chalked up to the team he's playing on. He's definitely a negative on offense but he's serviceable on defense. I'd still rather Koloko but if he's not cleared kicking the tires on Bruno makes some sense.
yeah except fernando is 6'8 and goga is a bit taller than that if im not mistaken. bruno is a tweener in some ways because he doesn't have the skill to play the 4 but as a 5 is undersized.

I agree, not sure he even makes final roster, but that end roster spot is generally not a good player. I'd much rather have drafted Filipowski for that role but we went with Mogbo so lets see if he can beat out Bruno for 3rd C minutes.
Both need to learn how to hit a 15 foot jumper..

I dont mind mogbo but at that pick there were others I wish we went with... but I guess you keep Barnes happy. In my opinion Mogbo isn't bad but I thought he would be available later on. I like Shead but from a size and offensive perspective he is limited especially if he can't knock down some shots.

                • Is this the first season Raps have completely cut out the Rico Hines runs as part of their off season development program? Normally half the team is there, or so it seemed.

The team is in Spain this year. Not sure if that's gonna be the new normal or just a one off.

Rico runs were never a team-mandated activity. It was Pascal's go-to offseason run, and some others joined in at times over the years, but except for the year Rico was actually working for the Raptors, it's never been a formal "thing" for Raptors players to attend all together.

Yeah not a formal part of their off season development plans but I thought Raps sent some of their assistant coaches there with the players too? Just seems strange they aren't there anymore. Plus it was nice to remain connected with the players through the summer, as a fan. Not seeing any footage on how guys are developing right now.

No Pascal no Rico Hines. Simple as that

                              • Lmao. Anyone who watched that tournament know Steph's the real MVP. But even Steph can't beat the propaganda. LeBron had that Olympic MVP in the bag before the tournament even started.
