So you also don't believe guys can't improve later on in their careers? Kyle was just an example. He went from being a 27% shooter to a 40%+ shooter.
Mitchell gave us a glimpse of that last year as he shot over 40% since January last season.
Davion has a skill set but his ability to initiate an offense has never been good. There is a reason why he got beat out by Keon Ellis and then they drafted Carter this draft. Do I think he is an NBA player? Yes. Do I think he is a value add? Yes, however, he has some limitations in his game and this is a weird roster to give him opportunities to work on it. He will have opportunities but he has to figure it out in a very short time period if he is going to truly be a back up point guard.
Right now based on his skill set he is a good POA defender but plays more like a 2 guard. The problem for him is .... we have Ja'kobe and Gradey who are cheaper for longer and have size advantages over him if he is not able to run an offence. Heck Jamal Shead can run an offence and play good defence he just cant shoot well but neither does Davion. Davion had his best shooting splits last year but his shot volume dipped down.
I am merely outlining what is fact about his game. Can he improve? Yes. We don't have him for the full duration of his rookie scale deal.

No, we don't know if the goal is to develop Gradey into the 5th starter with this group. The most obvious reason for that should be that a starting unit of IQ, Gradey, RG, Scottie and Jak looks flat out like a poor defense. IQ and Gradey guard the most difficult positions in the league to guard?
And what's wrong with seeing what Gradey can do on offense? They put the ball in his hands a lot during SL so clearly they're giving him the chance to develop into more than just a shooter. Remember Darko wants everyone to be able to put the ball on the floor and attack, pass, shoot. Not just do one thing. He'll get plenty of mins with the starters over the course of a season so I'm not worried at all about him building chemistry.

Never said they can't. Lowry came in as a 37.5 shooter from deep though dipped down then came back up during his stint in houston before he was a raptor. We may not have that long with mitchell. Lowry also entered the league at age 20 vs 23 so it gave him more run way to work on his game because of the "age" argument. At some point teams will say ok... this guy is age 28 do we give him a shot? or do we give a shot to a 20 year old showing some of the same skills.

Sounds like something on an inspirational poster .. but not any real substance - Basketball is not National Geographic .. in basketball you are FORCED to defend 50% of the game.
He said they will not be on the defensive end but will be the aggresors.
This is similar, even an upgrade to the Canucks's philosophy-
meet pressure with pressure.
