From what I am seeing in game 4. Get rid of the whole bunch. If they had not had a great first half, they would have not made the playoffs. Lowry, Val and Gravis have to go

Fire Casey he can't coach a defense. So many blow by's
You're going to base a whole teams worth on 4 games? That's a little unfair. JV has never gotten a fair shake in regular season fourth quarters, so it's naturally gonna be a little tougher for the guy in playoffs, when every quarter is played like those reg season 4th q's. JV does have his weaknesses at this point, don't get me wrong, but the guy is 22 and won't hit his prime for another 3 or 4 seasons. Let the man develop with a coach who will put some trust in him, not a bunch of me-first chuckers that barely look his way even when he's rolling. Quality bigs are hard to find, and to have a 22 year old with JV's potential already 3 years in, you have to keep him.

Poor Val is just too slow to play in the new NBA we need quicker players that can finish and play defense

You kinda DO have to keep him.

And it sucks. Fuck I hope he gets faster.

why do you kinda have to keep him? If the price is right he should be available.

that goes without saying for every player in the NBA. But the reality is, you have invested a lot of time and mo, you can' afford to let him walk on the cheap until you know 100% he's remaining a stiff. So you have to keep him

But I hear what youre saying

JV came in as an energetic mobile C and the team wanted him to bulk up. Now he's gained mass but he's too slow to defend in their hedging defense. They monitor his strength and conditioning training, they should have an actual goal in mind.

JV looked to have plateaued this year.... he's a gamble. Tough call for MU.
I'm curious to hear why you think he plateaued.

Improved per game scoring, blocks, shooting %s; rebounds stayed the same: all in less minutes. That doesn't sound like a plateau as much as a player held back by the team.

The problem is not Val. The problem is coach Casey not letting him develop during the regular season. Gotta let him through some stuff man. Whats the point of setting records during the regular season then getting swept out of the playoffs?

I bet Casey would have loved an opportunity to cash in on the investment in Val's development last night. Goddam this fvcking team.
                  Welp, that sucked.

Val need to be partnered next to someone who isn't Amir Johnson with lifesupported ankles on defence. On offence the guy needs to be more involved to develop.

Dwayne did what he did because he thought this was a championship roster... it is not a championship roster you need to develop.

The one thing about Val though is that he may not have a good reputation with the officials and it appears to be getting worse.

The stupidest thing the team could have done to jv was taking away the mid range from his game. He wasn't great at it last year, but he's young let it develop. It's not like demar is actually that good at it. If the team doesn't have confidence in him shooting it, how could he? It completely messed with his decision making whenever he got the ball out there.
It was really obvious when Washington just gave those shots to Amir and jv and they didn't even try to take them, nor did the team give them the chance to be a threat

Casey said in multiple post game interviews that they want him taking that mid range when he's open. He said that he just lacks the confidence to shoot it in game. This isn't on Casey or the tea it's on him. He just needs to shoot a lot of um this summer and I guarantee he'll start shooting them In Game next year

And lol at you guys that wouldn't trade Jv for okafor.

He's only 19 and is a great finisher, good in post up situations, and gobbles up offensive boards like their nothing. His only knock is his defence but he has the potential to be a great defender. He has a bruno like wingspan, huge hands and is really strong. His weakness on defence has a lot to do with effort really

I've also seen it written that he isn't supposed to be passed the ball unless he's established deep in the paint. So who knows what the f@$& is really going on.

Same people who thought Casey wasn't a terrible coach and couldn't see the problems and complete disorganization on the team are now trying to trade players for peanuts.
