  • Report: Raptors to target Monty Williams

Don't get your hopes up... it's only for an assistants position.

You think Casey is a bad coach? Monty is worse lol. There's a reason he got fired in NOLA.

He's another one of those coaches who call themselves a "defensive minded" coach but there teams absolutely suck on that end.

Can't be worse. He lead a team that was missing their starting PG (Jrue Holiday) and used Tyreke Evans (wanna talk about flawed players?) and Eric Gordon to bolster the back-court and make the playoffs in the WEST. No way Casey manages that. Throw in injuries to Davis, Anderson, etc; amazing they made the playoffs at all.

He's not that bad. Was 8th in off rtg this year. Pretty damn impressive considering all the injuries they had. Players like him too. Would be a great assistant coach. Don't see it happening though.

                    But Anthony Davis thoo!

The only reason they made the playoffs is because OKC was hit with the injury bug.

Davis played 68 games (only 8 more than Demar). Holiday only played 40. Ryan Anderson played 61. Gordon played 61. Only players to reach 70 games were Tyreke Evans and Omer Asik...not exactly stalwarts.

Only won 4 games less than us, IN THE WEST.

                        This.

Plus, Monty has a guy, a SUPERSTAR player in Anthony Davis.

Like i always say, TALENT wins in this league. Davis made Monty looked good. Just like how LeBron made Brown looked good.

That's a copp out. NOP had several injuries this season as well. Davis missed 14 games. Anderson missed 21. Gordon missed 21. Holiday missed 42.

Yes, OKC lost Durant for most of the season.....but even without him their team is at least as talented as NOP. And NOP is not a tremendously deep or talented team. It's amazing that Davis missing 14 games didn't completely sink their chances. Not to mention how important Anderson is to their spacing and lineup versatility. Holiday missing was big too, since they didn't have great depth at guard, and largely used Tyreke as a PG for stretches.

Props to NOP, they made it into the Western playoffs with their share of obstacles.
