  • I want Kostas Popinikalau...I may have already said this but if I say it often enough perhaps it will come true

Maybe we can trade Casey for Popinikalau AND Nick Johnson

I think Ross and GV for Stephenson and the 9th would work. Charlotte needs a backup PG to replace Mo Williams, and I think PPat is too valuable as a stretch 4 to give away for the 9th pick. Charlotte also needs minutes for Vonleh, so adding a PF may not be as much a priority for them. Interesting trade idea I hadn't though of.
Exactly and a stretch 4 is something the Kings need. Would a Lowry + PPat for Stauskas + 6th pick work? If they start Lowry then Collison will be coming off the bench as the PG and backup SG. We can throw in our 20th pick to sweeten the deal and maybe even take on Derrick William's contract

I really don't want to trade PPat. He's a really valuable stretch 4 on a really good value deal. We don't need to add him as sweetener if we're sending out Lowry, Lowry is more than enough compensation for the 6th pick and Stauskas, especially since Sac will want to send out the horrible Thompson Contract with the pick. I'm far more inclined to keep Lowry and move DD. Lowrys production at the point would be very difficult to replace, whereas I think replacing DD with someone who can shoot 3s and defend would improve our offense beyond DDs contributions.

I do believe however that Masai keeping Casey will mean trading Lowry. The two seem to have butted heads and Lowry won't want to be back playing for Casey after coming public with their issues (very immaturely) I still can't think of a team who'd want DD though. NY? Maybe the lakers see a lot of Kobe in DD and trade us their 2nd pick....lol

Primer, please look at my trade in the DeMar thread. I think you'd like it.

                      He needs two things...

-Adjust to NBA 3 pter. His shot was one of the strengths of his game. Not amazing or anything, but solid.
-Better conditioning because he looks fatter than I remember seeing him play for Panathinaikos

But I saw him play a decent amount before he hit the NBA. He could defend, shoot pretty well, and was a good passer for a forward, with naturally unselfish instincts (not a ball-stopper). And he could play both forward spots to some degree.

I'm thinking Houston might decline his option. In which case if he could be had at a minimum or close to it rate, I'd be all for putting him somewhere on the depth chart. Especially if the team is shaking things up quite a bit. While he may not have what it takes to stick, in principle we need more guys who are willing ball-movers and defenders.

                      • Being my first post and everything on the RR forums. My theory is that ujiri is keeping casey only to remove the doubt around the league that his team is looking for a new coach. Now why I say this is because ujiri is waiting on the bulls to release him, but they will only do so when all open coaching vacancies are filled. So once those positions fill up, he could either demote dwane casey to assistant coach and take tom sterner former post (if that is possible) or jus simply fire him. Then thibodeau is brought in and fills the vacant assistant coaching positions with his guys. I could see him keeping nick nurse, as he had the 3rd best offensive rating in the league as I recall.

Once the HC is setup I could see this happening
                        - trade up in the draft by trading derozan and other assets to New York or LA for one of those top 5 picks
                        - pry jimmy butler away from the bulls w/ a max contract (I'm not to familiar with how RFA works, so correct me if I'm wrong)

Uhhhhh the only possible team that would trade a top 5 pick for Derozan is NY, because Phil sux at basketball operations. Second, Bulls will match any offer given to Butler so nobody is prying him away. Lastly, the 3rd best offensive has a HUGE asterisk next to it because nothing about our offensive would suggest its sustainable. Only thing that skewed our offensive rating was our high free throw rate

i think it is a bit early to say he sucks at basketball operations. wait until he uses his money this year to judge him. their only goal last year was to retain melo and begin teaching the triangle.

i think retaining casey was a message to the players that the revolving door of coaches here is finished and that if you constantly improve the team then you will not be punished.
