More from that pick-up action from the other week, including Mogbo being reverse dunked-on (almost) by his bro Scottie around the 1:00 mark.
*More of Jonathan in the last third, but we've already seen a bunch of these 3s.
Can't wait to see where he's at in preseason. Will Darko trust him more than Boucher because of his affinity for passing? More than Ochai because of his size? Or is he lost to the bench and/or 905 for the first half of the season?
I tend to think we might see this lineup sooner rather than later:
Mitchell
Quickly
Scottie
Jonathan
Kelly
Darko gets 3-frontcourt "hubs" out there while going full guard-play in the backcourt and maybe being passable defensively. Then he could come back with RJ and Boucher and Jak if he wants to give his defense a chance with length:
Mitchell
RJ
Boucher
Jonathan
Jak
That would get us back to the starters to finish each half. But of course would only be remotely tenable if Mogbo is ready for primetime and as versatile as advertised. If he can be two-way competitive, we can be just a much bigger, badass team than if we are rolling with 6'5 small forwards the whole game.

Guys of his “type” (yes, athletic high-motor forwards with or without dreads is a type) tend to come into the league and put up stats. It is entirely possible that he beats out Ochai for the backup wing-forward role sooner rather than later.

Just noticed that Mogbo measured as the same pre-draft height as Gradey but with a standing reach 7.5 inches taller. No wonder Mogbo plays so much bigger than his height, Gradey doesn't even play that small!

I agree that Boucher SHOULD be part of the rotation. But he should have been last year too and he wasn't. If he doesn't play, there's a pretty clear runway to backup big minutes for Mogbo beside Kelly.

If Brown starts, then Dick, Olynyk, Agbaji, Walter, Mitchell and Boucher(?). Will be good competition for minutes before you even get to guys like Mogbo. Based on Summer League, which is all we've seen, I'd say Shead has a better chance of cracking that rotation than Mogbo.

Zero chance Mogbo starts. If we want to start an energy big you start Boucher. Mogbo is gonna be backup C at best this year, probably G League a lot of the time.

Doesn't shoot as well as he should to maximize Scottie but maybe he flashes enough there to get the nod sooner rather than later. He gives us that big, athletic, hyper mobile frontcourt that we've grown accustomed to and we know we need to compete on D. Plus I love how he pushes RJ to the 3 and has the quickness to take the more perimeter-oriented player of opponent frontcourts.
Quickley
RJ
Barnes
Mogbo
Jak
Might not be Darko's first choice but in "year one of the rebuild" his job evaluation probably depends just as much on development of the young guys as it does on wins next season.
Who's his competition for the starting 3/4? Gradey, Brown, and...?
