Better to be pleasantly surprised when he exceeds expectations and becomes that star, than be unfortunately disappointed when he becomes merely a useful player, and not a superstar.twitter.com/anthonysmdoyle

If we sign DD, I hope Powell becomes our 6th man. He's a guard in the mold of a young, shorter Iggy. Does anyone remember Iggy in his young Sixer days?
He was explosive, good on D & shot the 3 at a decent rate. He also played the 2 & 3 full time.
Does anyone else like that comparison?Axel wrote:Now Cody can stop posting about this guy and we have a poster to blame if anything goes wrong!!KeonClark wrote:We won't hear back from him. I see Iggy in his game due to his D. Iggy was always good at getting under guys skin. Powell's D is very similar.Axel wrote:Now Cody can stop posting about this guy and we have a poster to blame if anything goes wrong!!KeonClark wrote:We won't hear back from him. Still, plenty of reason to be optimistic that Powell can be a very good role player for the team.

I know it's important because of the added experience, but couldn't you also say those that were drafted earlier are more likely to have the physical tools to succeed? I feel like any affect of having 4 years in college and being older might come out in the wash and may not be as big a factor as x years in the nba.
In any case, comparing rookie Powell to the other rookies is not really fair based on experience and age - they were younger and as rookies had no more NBA experience than Powell, and less playing experience overall (with the possible exception of JV who has been playing competitively basically all his life).
