At what point do you say we have 2nd on lock (BARRING a complete collapse)?
With Miami getting healthy and Derrick Rose figuring things out? Not yet, for sure.

LOL. It's way too early. Some team always makes a big run post All-Star Break. And March is brutal. 16 games, including: ATL x 2, BOS x 2, MIA, CHI, OKC, HOU x 2.

        • I'm not confident about anything yet. Teams trend in one direction or the other for half a season all the time. Raps still have plenty of time to fall off their current pace and the teams behind them have plenty of time to turn things around and crank it up.

Also, being a higher seed going into the playoffs is starting to feel like a bad thing after the last two springs

Don't think it was so absurd you'd laugh out loud. 35 games left. 5.5 up so say we go 20-15, that would require someone behind us going like 26-10. As long as the raptors stay healthy and focused, it's getting pretty tough.

Just like it doesn't make sense how we cannot beat Charlotte. Sometimes teams just have your number

As long as we can avoid them until a potential conference finals I'm happy.
I'm onboard with that. We absolutely cannot finish lowers than 3rd.

Wasn't sure whether to post this in the Knicks draft pick thread or this one. Charlotte beats Cleveland! Win-Win!

A win over Portland put us 2.0 back. Big game tomorrow

                      • Boston moving up. Looks like they could make a run for a top4 seed. Riding that differential up the standings! Would it be a good thing if they finished third, we second, and DET 7th? Seems like a relatively easy path to the ECF. Or should we be worried about possibly facing BOS in playoffs?

                        • Boston will be a buyer at the trade deadline in all likelihood. We'll know in a couple of weeks what we'll be up against.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

We should be less worried about Boston than a Miami or a chicago. To quote a famous Paul, "they don't have that it"

Boston does have the best coach in the conference though. Stevie boy working miracles over there, that roster has no business being T-3rd in the east right now.

Agreed, they could pull a team version of Steph and be called "most improved" last year, and most improved again this year.

Of course, you could say the same thing about Golden State
