  • At current pace, by the end of this season, Lowry will have played almost as many minutes in the last 3 seasons as he played in his first 6.(~8500 in the last 3 versus 11000 in the first 6)

He logged 1500+ minutes in 5 of those 6 seasons, over 2000 twice.

Terrence Ross started the last two seasons, will have played less minutes in his 4 year career than Lowry's played in the last 2.5 seasons.

In his 4 year career Ross has started 132 games. Lowry in the past 2.5 seasons has started 197 games.

The point is though, Casey's supposed to be keeping an eye on Lowry's minutes to keep him from burning out. We need him to be capable of playing 35 minutes in the playoffs.

I agree but I think the point has been beaten to death here

                        Disagree.

You don't want Casey keeping an eye on Lowry's minutes. Literally, every time it's come up with Casey, Lowry's minutes actually increase.

Clinch the playoffs first before worrying about that.

What's the point of making the playoffs if Lowry has nothing left when we get there? So we can get the shit kicked out of us in the first round again?

That's what clinching the playoffs early is for. When we have our playoff seed set in stone, then we can worry about resting guys, we need him to get us there first.

Clinching things and then resting/taking the foot of the pedal is what happened last year. I would prefer they start spreading the minutes around and as a result lose some separation if it will keep their focus and compete levels high. This is pretty much the same group that coasted and thought they could turn it on in the playoffs. Even if they were physically healthy that's not a healthy attitude for success.
