  • GAME #41 - Brooklyn Nets 100 - Toronto Raptors 112

    vs.

    Projected Starters
    Nets Toronto
PG - Donald Sloan PG - Kyle Lowry
SG - Wayne Ellington SG - Demar Derozan
SF - Joe Johnson SF - James Johnson
PF - Thaddeus Young PF - Luis Scola
    C - Brook Lopez C - Jonas Valanciunas

    Last Meeting
Jonas Valanciunas had 22 points and 11 rebounds, and the Raptors handed the Brooklyn Nets their eighth straight home loss, 91-74 on Wednesday night.

Even without DeMarre Carroll, who could be out a while after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee across town, the Raptors held the Nets below 40 percent shooting and won easily even while missing 18 of their 22 3-point attempts.

"We're going to have games where we're not going to be able to score," guard DeMar DeRozan said. "We've got to understand we've got to be able to win games in the 80s and keep teams, like tonight, in the low-70s, high-70s."

Kyle Lowry had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. He made all seven shots inside the arc but was 0 for 7 from 3-point range as Toronto bounced back after giving up nearly 120 points per game in consecutive losses to Chicago and Cleveland.

    Noteworthy
    • The Toronto Raptors return home following an NBA Global Game in London, England to start a seven game homestand.

    • The Raptors have not played at home since Jan. 3 vs. Chicago.

    • Toronto has won 17 straight games when holding opponents to less than 100 points. It is the second-longest streak in team history and the longest since team-record of 27 games from March 2009 to March 2010.

    • The Raptors improved to 14-9 on the road with a 106-103 victory Jan. 14 against the Orlando Magic in London, England. The 14 wins are the most road victories the Raptors have ever achieved through the first 41 games of a season.

    • DeMar DeRozan can become just the third player in team history to average 22.5 points through the first 41 games of a season.

    • DeRozan has participated in all 40 games this year, compiling a career-best 905 points.

    • Kyle Lowry ranks 17th in scoring (20.7 points), second in steals (2.28) and 13th in assists (6.4).

    • Lowry had a season-high five steals in our last meeting with Brooklyn.

Brooklyn is better than 11-29...not much better but a bit.

They just lost by nearly 30 to Atlanta.

          I'm expecting a tough game in typical Raps fashion....but a W.

I think they get a win against the Wizards again. If Melo is back for the NY game that can be trouble with Carroll unless Casey decides to adjust and have JJ slow him down.

I'm excited to see them against the Pistons

                          Should be a win, obviously.
