Plus we can realistically hope for a really good addition whether draft trade or fa, it's not just gonna be ross and jv.

Yo... I just thought for a second. When JV becomes polished, I could imagine Lowrys role setting him up, being crafty with the dribble and smart with his timing. Passing and 3pt shooting is pretty much ageless, and we won't need him to be the centre of our offence when JV and Ross mature.

This is why, barring injury, I think he still has got a solid 4 or 5 seasons left in him beyond this one. 5 seasons from now, he may not be able to do what he did last night against CLE, but at that point we shouldn't need him to anyways, as others, like JV, should be able to make up for what Lowry has lost at that point. But he should still be competitive, still have that drive and desire to win, and still be tough, and still be a leader with a ton of shit to teach the rest of the team.

With a minimum of 40 games played and 20 minutes per game, 4 people have multiple seasons in the top ten for the Raptors in WS/48.
Lowry at 1st and 6th.
Vince at 3rd and 9th.
Bosh at 4th and 8th.
and...
Jonas Valanciunas, at 2nd and 7th.

Is Kyle Lowry having the franchise best season of all time?
This is a different question than the other recent thread, but credit to the other thread for the idea of it.
Have dunk contests, nostalgia, vinsanity and purple jerseys altered our recollection? Its very debatable. Here's the scoreboard as it stands:
Vince Carter's 2000-01:
mvp voting per basketball reference: 11th
win share/48: .208 PER: 25
PTS 27.6 REB 5.5 AST 3.9 STL 1.5
Team record: 47-35 .573
Playoff finish: eastern conference second round lost in game 7
Kyle Lowry's 2015-16 season:
Current mvp ranking per bball reference: 8th
win share/48: .221 PER: 23.5
PTS 21.4 REB 4.9 AST 6.4 STL 2.2
Team record: 39-18 .684
Playoff finish: ??????????
Food for thought:
-Kyle has a chance to pass vince for raptor career AND raptor peak.
-do we already have our superstar, and just need to surround with a couple more pieces? A star power forward? Or just a pf upgrade and an upgrade in one other place?
-are we underappreciating kyle and the window we have with him at peak?Last edited by KeonClark; Sat Feb 27, 2016, 05:43 PM.Tags: None
