  • Game 59 - Utah Jazz 94 - Toronto Raptors 104

    Projected Starters:

Toronto Raptors - JV, Scola, Johnson, DeRozan, Lowry
Utah Jazz - Gobert, Favors, Hood, Hayward, Mack

    Notes:
    • Raptors lost the last meeting 93-89 on Nov/18.
    • Prior to that loss, the Raptors had beaten Utah 4 straight
    • Kyle Lowry is well rested after taking the last game off and is ready to go
    • If the Raptors win this game they will have won 40 games before they lost 20. According to Phil Jackson's theory they would be considered championship contenders.
    • The Raptors signed Jason Thompson who was waived from the GS Warriors. He should be in the line up.
    • Utah plays at the slowest pace in the league. Raptors are 27th slowest. So expect a low scoring affair.
    • Current odds show that the Raptors are 5.5 favorites to win.

    Let's go Raptors!

If Utah had a legit point guard they would be a really good team. Kyle and Cory should feast. Just have to hope this isn't one of those patented Raptor nights where an opposing scrub like Mack goes off for a career high.

Shelvin Mack isn't a terrible PG tbh. He's been playing well since going to Utah in all honesty, averaging 16 points a night with em. Hayward is who we have to worry about.

Phil Jacksons "40 before 20" theory is a good one, but only applies to regular years. If you look at the top 2 teams in the west, this is far from a regular year.

Typical raptor luck, we have a contending calibre team but only good enough to hope to lose to an all time great team

Didn't check career highs, but I checked season highs for the Raptors and how the team did.

4 players had season highs twice. DD 35 pts, Scola 22 pts, Carroll, 21 pts, CoJo 19 pts. For each player one came in a win and one in a loss.

JJ 14 pts - Loss, PP 18 pts - Loss, JV 25 pts - Loss, TR 27 pts - Loss

Kyles 43 pts and BB's 15 pts were Wins.

So of those games where one of our guys had their highest scoring night of the year, the team is sub .500.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

This is easily explainable I think. We're a much better team when everyone's involved.

Hey that's why we got ourselves an "insurance policy" in Thompson when Scola shits the bed.

Insurance policies only work when you're willing to make a claim.

I'm heading to the game tonight. Got #CraftyVet painted on my forehead.

40 wins or 20 losses? Tonight's contest decides if we're winning a championship in 4 months, or at least, that's how I understand the situation....
