Reasonably certain Durant re-ups for one year with OKC. He gives up something like $40 million over the course of his max contract to max this year instead of next.
That doesn't necessarily mean he'll stay in OKC.

He could ask to be sign and traded on a 1+1 deal. Would allow him to go to a new team and also opt out the next year and get his big money.

Staying with OKC for one year puts him on the same cycle as Westbrook and Ibaka though, which might be attractive to him.

Taking a 1+1 would STILL put him on the same "cycle" as Westbrook/Ibaka (he'd be right back in FA in 2017) so I'm not really sure what you mean here.

If he wants to leave it doesn't make sense to re-up for a year.

Nope. Sign and trades must be at least three years, and any option years don't count towards the three, so if he wants a player option it would have to be a 3+1 deal.

Yeah, but Sacramento has to agree to the trade, right?

That's a fair deal. Especially if that's the knicks' pick.

Is it the best deal they can get though? Boston was willing to part with at least one brooklyn pick to get DMC.

Depends on what they want. If they want to stay competitive and make the playoffs Boston can't beat Ross/JV. That combo is more talented than any players the Cs could offer.

It is indeed a fair deal. But I doubt they go for it. Sign me up if they do. You don't take fair deals for guys like Cousins - you get blown away or you hang up.

Multiple brooklyn first round picks tops anything that the Raptors can offer. Those picks are completely unprotected, and Brooklyn is going to be very, very bad for a long time. I like both Ross and JV, and still would definitively say that they don't have the same trade value as multiple picks with top 3 potential.

I think your underrating Ross' and JV's value.

I'm going to frame this comment. This is the first time since I started posting here that I've been accused of underrating Ross or JV.
