So now that he's logged some more minutes..

Def Rating with Thompson on the court: 101.2 (Lowest on the team)

      DeRozan + JT: +13.6
      Lowry + JT: +28.6
      Powell + JT: +13.0
      Valanciunas + JT: +19.7

I'm not a huge fan on the on/off stuff but I agree JT has played well. He basically gives you the same veteran know-how as Scola but in a much more athletic package. As I've said before, if JT was here at the start of the season he'd likely be the starter, Patterson would be the back-up and Scola would be the fifth big.

I do think that they're going to need him in the playoffs at some point because I just don't see Scola and Patterson doing enough consistently and, if they are rolling, he might help them win a game or two.

I've been pretty happy with Thompson. Depending on how things shake out this summer, I could easily be on board with bringing him back.

In my fantasy, our frontcourt would look something like this

          C: Jonas, Thompson, Bebe
          PF: Horford, Pat, ???

Thompson and Horford can both play either spot. Pat is a great role playing stretch PF. Jonas is your beast down low at C. You can put any 2 of them together and be confident you'd have decent coverage in terms of skills and areas of the court you can utilize. Bebe becomes next man up with an injury, and you groom him to fit at either spot like JT or Horford.

Now, if only Masai can figure out how the fuck to get Horford....

JT won't be on the team next year imo. Will probably get a decent money offer elsewhere.

Yeah he'll get first big off the bench on a shitty team and get 25 mil guaranteed if his agent is doing his job. Get your money while it's hot, nba vets.
