I actually think Patterson is more important than DeMar, second to Lowry.

If Patterson went down tomorrow, our season would be in big trouble. How do we fill those minutes?
This is the problem with ONLY looking at numbers.

    Kids, don't do stats.

This has nothing to do with stats, it's about filling the minutes. Patterson spreads the floor in a lot of our crunch time lineups, and guards a lot of 3/4 guys and does a great job. That's a hard skill to replace with our roster.

Exactly what numbers are are you talking about?
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

The very idea that you could do without Derozan sooner that you could do without Patterson is absurd. I assume you base the assertion on your analysis of his contributions statistically, which you've mentioned in other threads. Either way, it's still absurd.

            No, it's not absurd.

We have depth at the guard positions, we don't at the 4.

            • It is absolutely absurd. We have depth at PG too, does that mean that Patterson is more important than Lowry? CoJo is a serviceable PG and Delon, well everyone has been clamoring for him to play more.

Just nonsense. DeMar's impact on the game is on a different planet from 2Pat's.

Not really about stats or numbers. I somewhat agree with him. Scola is useless and JT while he could do well, can't play the whole game. Is DD important? Of course he is, but our lack of depth at PF makes Patterson very important. If DD goes down, of course it will have a big impact, but Ross at least is capable of somewhat filling in for DD.

There is also our defense which will improve with Ross and Powell if DD goes out , if Patterson goes out, our defense at PF goes down the drain.
