Powell or Carroll?

Carroll. We arent paying the man 15 million to come off the bench in the playoffs for a rookie who had some good games.
That being said I expect Powell to get some strong minutes off the bench.

Powell. He's been playing well and is in sync with the starters. Carroll should not start until the second round of the playoffs and even then only if he is healthy, not showing any ill effects and if the match up absolutely requires it.
I'm fine with Carroll coming off the bench the entire playoffs.

Carroll.
This isn't really a debate for me if he's healthy. Even if he wasn't; I still wouldn't be starting Powell. The biggest threat on Indiana is their SF and he's a big one at 6'9."My biggest concern as a coach is to not confuse winning with progress." - Steve Kerr

Indiana has a terrible offense, but a great defense. Carroll is a great defender, but do we really need a great defender against a team that struggles to score? I say put in Powell and bring Carroll off the bench.
Get Carroll a little more acclimated to the team and the sets. Then start him in round two if we get there.
Although adjustments should be made throughout and this should not be set in stone either. But for game 1 I'd prefer Powell if I had to choose between them.
Of course I'm assuming Scola is starting regardless.

They're going to play Carroll as much as they can. Tbh I'll be pretty surprised if he holds up, though. The tough question will be if Carroll has swelling, knee pain, etc. will they know to sit him in favour of Powell, JJ, etc.? Is a 50% Carroll going to be hobbling around while a 100% replacement sits on the bench?"We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard
