Will Bargnani Be More Significant Once Bosh is Gone?

Steve Simmons annoys me to no end, but I digress. By no means do I think he really has anything to contribute when it comes to basketball, but this remark from his column this morning made me laugh out loud.

There are those who believe that Andrea Bargnani will be a far more significant player once Bosh is gone from the Raptors. Then again, there are those who believe that Elvis is still alive.

Chris Bosh isn't in Andrea Bargnani's way development wise.

Bosh isn't stopping Bargnani from developing, from improving.

So, no, there is no positive benefit for Bargnani without Bosh.

I think the games where Bosh did not play pretty much shows how Bargnani would do without Bosh.

Bargnani can't create his own shot, is a poor post player, doesn't have good hands and doesn't get to the line. None of that is due to Bosh.

Without Bosh, Andrea will be forced to play a different game. There is no way you could guess based on the 2009-10 season games with Bosh out of line, how this would affect Andrea's game. Also, if Bosh is gone with S&T deal that brings some good players around of Andrea, you never know how Andrea will play. And I am saying this knowing that ELVIS is not alive

No one is saying that Bargnani is the real problem, but he is one of the main problems. Think about it. The Raptors two biggest weaknesses were defense and rebounding. These are two of Bargnani's biggest weaknesses. You can't have a team that doesn't have good defensive players be anchored defensively (which the center generally is) by a guy who doesn't seem to have a clue of how to play team defense.

No other player represents what was wrong with the Raptors last season more than Bargnani. And no other player needs to be moved more than Bargnani. Period.
