I really believed that trading VanVleet will make us a more younger and deeper team with an eye on the pure development of Scottie and his chemistry with the other starters. A more cohesive and faster team.
A future pick to add with our own pick is an icing on top.

FVV - LAST 5 games shooting percentage
29%
42.8%
38.7%
32.4%
22.2%
Average: 33.02%. And he's taken a crap ton of shots. And supposedly he is playing much better now? Again, if injured, he should not be playing.
If healthy, whats going on here? Bad ball movement by the team or forced shots just trying to get paid? Or missed open looks?

+1 on court, -9 off court
+6 on court, -9 off court
+10 on court, -14 off court
+12 on court, 0 off court
+6 on court, +6 off court
Yes, his shooting is coming around slowly at best, but he does a lot more than that for the team.
Also worth noting he's been doing a great job getting to the line, so looking at TS% instead:
30% (yes, disaster game)
53% (fine)
56% (good)
59% (very good)
49% (bleh)
Total over this stretch: 50% (not good, but not actively damaging either), and mostly dragged down by his first game back from injury (last 4 games it's at 54%, a good tick up from his season number of 52%).

I dunno, I don't think this is a coincidence over the last 5 games:
+1 on court, -9 off court
+6 on court, -9 off court
+10 on court, -14 off court
+12 on court, 0 off court
+6 on court, +6 off court

League average TS% is up to almost 58% (57.7) this year.

Fred minutes are usually matched to Siakam in transition lineups, so he’s getting the maximum support possible to look good. He always has.
